Lake Mohawk is an unincorporated residential development and census-designated place (CDP) split between Byram Township and Sparta Township, in Sussex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2010 United States census, the CDP's population was 9,916, of which 1,824 were in Byram Township and 8,092 in Sparta Township.
Tomahawk is an unincorporated community on Back Creek in Berkeley County, West Virginia, United States. The community is named for a nearby series of springs in the shape of a tomahawk. The community includes the historic Tomahawk Presbyterian Church, established c. 1745, and its adjacent community cemetery, which has gravestones dating to the late 18th century. Tomahawk also has a popular dirt bike racetrack. The community lies 9.5 miles from Martinsburg.
The South Shore Cultural Center, in Chicago, Illinois, is a cultural facility located at 71st Street and South Shore Drive, in the city's South Shore neighborhood. It encompasses the grounds of the former South Shore Country Club.
The Ladies Delight Light is a small lighthouse on Lake Cobbosseecontee, in Winthrop, Maine, United States. It was constructed in 1908 and is believed to be the only active inland waters lighthouse in Maine. The tower is 25 feet (7.6 m) tall, and is equipped with a solar powered dual-level LED marine beacon. It operates every night of the year. At the time of its construction, it was the only inland lake lighthouse east of the Mississippi River. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
A spring house, or springhouse, is a small building, usually of a single room, constructed over a spring. While the original purpose of a springhouse was to keep the spring water clean by excluding fallen leaves, animals, etc., the enclosing structure was also used for refrigeration before the advent of ice delivery and, later, electric refrigeration. The water of the spring maintains a constant cool temperature inside the spring house throughout the year. Food that would otherwise spoil, such as meat, fruit, or dairy products, could be kept there, safe from animal depredations as well. Springhouses thus often also served as pumphouses, milkhouses, and root cellars.
The Country Club Historic District is located in Omaha, Nebraska from 50th to 56th Streets and from Corby to Seward Streets. It includes dozens of homes built between 1925 and 1949 in the late 19th and 20th Century Revival styles. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.
Oldfields, also known as Lilly House and Gardens, is a 26-acre (11 ha) historic estate and house museum at Newfields in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. The estate, an example of the American country house movement of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, was designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark in 2003.
Crystal Lake State Park is a day-use state park and historic site in Barton, Vermont, United States. It is located at 96 Bellwater Avenue, off Willoughby Lake Road just east of the village, at the northwestern end of 763-acre (309 ha) Crystal Lake. It features a sandy beach with swimming area, and a bath house built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). A cottage is available for rental. The park was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on August 30, 2005, for its association with the CCC.
The David Gordon House and Collins Log Cabin were two historic homes located at Columbia, Missouri. The David Gordon House is a two-story, frame I-house. The 13-room structure incorporated original construction from about 1823 and several additions from the 1830s, 1890s and 1930s. The Collins Log Cabin was built in 1818, and is a single pen log house of the story and a loft design. They represent some of the first permanent dwellings in Columbia. The house, located in what is now Stephens Lake Park burned after arson in the early 1990s. The log cabin survived has been relocated from Stephens Lake Park to the campus of the Boone County Historical Society.
The Bowman Lake Patrol Cabin in Glacier National Park, Montana, United States, is a rustic back-country log cabin. Built in 1934, the cabin has a single room, with a front porch extension to create a shelter from snowfall.
Mountain Lake is a private community north of the City of Lake Wales, Florida, United States. It was founded in 1915 and contains a golf course designed in 1916 by Seth Raynor. Mountain Lake is located in the ridge country of Central Florida, and was developed by Baltimorean Frederick Ruth. With proximity close to trains from the North which would bring residents down for ‘the season’, Ruth assembled 3500 acres and engaged Frederick Law Olmsted Jr. to lay out 600 acres of the property for the residences and Seth Raynor to design the golf course. This same trio also went on to design and develop Fisher Island in the 1920s. There are some notes in the archives at Mountain Lake that Ruth spoke to Donald Ross prior to selecting Raynor; however Raynor was chosen and Mountain Lake became the first development of its kind.
Ormonde (1885–88) is a Shingle Style country house built on the eastern shore of Cazenovia Lake in Cazenovia, New York. It was designed by architect Frank Furness for George R. Preston, a New Orleans banker who settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Laurelhurst Park is a city park in the neighborhood of Laurelhurst in Portland, Oregon. The 26.81-acre (10.85 ha) park was acquired in 1909 from the estate of former Portland mayor William S. Ladd. The City of Portland purchased the land in 1911, and the following year park superintendent Emanuel Mische designed the park in accordance with the Olmsted Plan.

Ocean Forest Country Club, previously known as Ocean Forest Hotel and Country Club, and called Pine Lakes Country Club since 1946, is a historic country club and hotel located at Myrtle Beach in Horry County, South Carolina. The club and hotel were designed by an influential New York architect, Raymond Hood (1881-1934) and is an unusual example of Classical Revival architecture. Construction of the club began in 1926 and was completed in 1927. In addition to the hotel / club building, a 27-hole golf course was built in association with the club. It was designed by Robert White, a golf course designer and future president of the Professional Golfers' Association of America. The present 18-hole course dates to 1946.
The Mowich Lake Patrol Cabin is one of the oldest backcountry ranger stations in Mount Rainier National Park. Built in 1922, it is located in the western portion of the park and is adjacent to the largest lake in the park. It was used by rangers on boundary patrol, and is located on the Wonderland Trail. The log cabin encloses a 15.5-foot (4.7 m) by 17.5-foot (5.3 m) area, with porch projecting 5.75 feet (1.75 m) to the front. The design was influential in the development of patrol cabin designs in the 1930s. The original foundation logs were replaced in 1974 by a crew of high school age volunteers of the Student Conservation Association.
The Lassen Volcanic National Park Highway Historic District includes the main roadway developed within Lassen Volcanic National Park in northern California from 1925 to 1951. The road was developed to allow tourists access to the central part of the national park, and was designed in accordance with National Park Service design principles for naturalistic road design and the National Park Service Rustic style of design and construction. The new road was intended to supplant existing primitive roads that led into the park from the periphery, cutting straight through the park to its major sights. The road is designated California State Route 89.
The Cal-Vada Lodge Hotel is a historic hotel in Crystal Bay, Nevada, United States, at the California-Nevada border at the north end of Lake Tahoe, is a Bungalow/craftsman-style hotel that was built in 1935. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.
New Discovery State Park is a state park near Marshfield, Vermont in the United States. It is one of seven state parks located in Groton State Forest. The park is on Vermont Route 232, offering camping, picnicking, and access to forest trails. The park was developed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps; its major CCC-built facilities, located mainly in western Peacham, were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
The Midwest Oil Company Hotel, at 136 East 6th Street in Casper, Wyoming, is an historic hotel building which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It has also served as the Casper Women's Club House. Originally built by the Midwest Oil Company to accommodate workers during the Casper oil boom, it was taken over by Standard Oil Company of Indiana when that company bought Midwest Oil. In the 1930s, in the waning days of oil production in Natrona County, a local women's organization bought the hotel for $8,000 and was renamed the Casper Women's Club House.
