The Torneo Promocional Amateur is a championship, corresponding to the fifth and final division of the Argentine football league system for clubs directly affiliated with the AFA. It is the successor of the Primera D Metropolitana. [1]
According to the requirements of the competition, players must be under 26 years of age with no history of previous contracts signed. [2]
In 2023 the last edition of the Primera D took place, because from 2024 on, the category will be unified with the Primera C in a single tournament. [3] The Primera D was replaced by the "Torneo Promocional Amateur", with 14 invited clubs. The first season takes place in 2024.

The Argentine Football Association is the governing body of football in Argentina based in Buenos Aires. It organises the main divisions of Argentine league system, including domestic cups: Copa Argentina, Supercopa Argentina, Copa de la Liga Profesional, Trofeo de Campeones de la Liga Profesional and the Supercopa Internacional. The body also manages all the Argentina national teams, including the Senior, U-20, U-17, U-15, Olympic and women's squads. Secondly, it also organizes the women's, children, youth, futsal, and other local leagues.

The champions are promoted to Primera B Nacional. 30 teams competed in the league, 25 returning from the 2018–19 season, one team that was relegated from Primera B Nacional and four teams promoted from the Torneo Regional Federal Amateur. The regular season began on 1 September 2019 and was expected to end in June 2020.
The Torneo Regional Federal Amateur is one of the two professional leagues that form the regionalised fourth level of the Argentine football league system, along with Primera C Metropolitana. The competition was established in 2018 as a result of a change in the structure of the league system, replacing Torneo Federal B.
The 2023 Argentine Primera Nacional, also known as the Campeonato de Primera Nacional "Campeones del Mundo" 2023, was the 39th season of the Primera Nacional, the second-tier competition of Argentine football. The season began on 3 February and ended on 2 December 2023. Thirty-seven teams competed in the league, thirty-three of which took part in the 2022 season, along with two teams relegated from Primera División, one team promoted from Torneo Federal A and another one promoted from Primera B Metropolitana.
Barrancas Fútbol Club, also known as Barrancas UMET is an Argentine football club located in the city of Buenos Aires. Established in 2023, it currently competes in Torneo Promocional Amateur, the fifth division of the Argentine football league system. To date, Barrancas is the younger football team to play in official competitions.
