New Castle is a city in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. The city is located six miles (10 km) south of Wilmington and is situated on the Delaware River. As of 2020, the city's population was 5,551. New Castle constitutes part of the Delaware Valley or Philadelphia metropolitan area.

The predominant structures are three-story rowhouse dwellings in a variety of popular styles including Second Empire, Italianate, and Gothic Revival. Old College Historic District is a national historic district located at Newark in New Castle County, Delaware. It consists of six contributing buildings: Old College, Recitation Hall, Recitation Annex, Alumni Hall, Mechanical Hall, and Elliott House. These buildings formed the nucleus, and until the 20th century, the entire campus of Delaware College.
Immanuel on the Green (Episcopal) is an historic church in New Castle, Delaware, listed as a contributing property in the New Castle Historic District. The church is situated near the center of New Castle at the northeast end of the Green, or town common, making it a prominent local landmark and tourist attraction. Operating continuously since 1689, it is the oldest Anglican parish in Delaware and the oldest continuously operating Anglican/Episcopal parish in the country. The church building was constructed between 1703 and 1708 and enlarged in 1822. The interior and roof were rebuilt following a disastrous fire in 1980.
Lewes Historic District is a national historic district located at Lewes, Sussex County, Delaware. The district includes 122 contributing buildings and 6 contributing sites encompassing most of the 17th-century town of Lewes, together with part of Pilot Town. The district is primarily residential with resources ranging from small working-class houses to large and ornate houses from the Victorian period in a variety of popular styles including Queen Anne and Second Empire. Also included in the district is the Market Street commercial area, including three frame store buildings and the elaborate Smith Block. Other notable buildings include St. Peter's Episcopal Church, the Ellis Marine Complex, Cannonball House, Governor Ebe W. Tunnell House, Walsh Building, Zwaanendael Museum (1932), Cornelius Burton House, Lewes Historical Society enclave, and the De Wolf Houses. The contributing sites include the site of an 18th-century fort and the 1812 Park.

The district is primarily residential and includes a variety of Victorian-era mansions and large dwellings in a variety of popular architectural styles including Italianate, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Classical Revival, and American Four Square The houses are detached or semi-detached and are primarily three stories in height with extensive wings to the rear. The district also includes 20th century apartment complexes. Also located in the district is the St. Stephen's Lutheran Church and the Sailors and Soldiers Monument. The separately listed Howard Pyle Studios are also located in the district.

It encompasses 189 contributing buildings located east of the central business district of Wilmington dating from the late-18th to the early-20th century. The buildings reflect a mix of architectural types and styles include industrial buildings, churches, schools, semi-detached houses, rowhouses, apartment houses, restaurants, and stores. Notable non-residential buildings include St. Patrick's Church, Diamond Match Company complex, Security Storage Warehouse, Francis Apartments, Winkler's Restaurant, Delaware Hosiery Manufacturing Company building, F.F. Slocomb Company building. The Howard High School, Kaumagraph Building, and Starr House are located in the district and separately listed.

Elmwood Historic District–West is a national historic district located at Buffalo, Erie County, New York. The district encompasses 1,971 contributing buildings, 4 contributing structures, and 13 contributing objects in the Elmwood Village neighborhood of Buffalo. It is built around the Buffalo Parks and Parkways system bounded on the north by Delaware Park, Forest Lawn Cemetery, and the former Buffalo State Asylum, on the south by the Allentown Historic District, and on the east by the Elmwood Historic District–East. This predominantly residential district developed between about 1867 and 1941, and includes notable examples of Queen Anne, Shingle Style, Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and American Craftsman style architecture. The district contains one of the most intact collections of built resources from turn of the 20th century in the city of Buffalo and western New York State. Located in the district are six previously listed contributing resources including the Richmond Avenue Methodist-Episcopal Church and the Buffalo Tennis and Squash Club. Other notable building include the H.C. Gerber House (1908), the Fred Dullard House (1910), the William H. St. Joseph Neighborhood Historic District is a national historic district located at Indianapolis, Indiana. The district encompasses 57 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Indianapolis. It was developed between about 1855 and 1930, and include representative examples of Italianate and Queen Anne style architecture. Located in the district are the separately listed Bals-Wocher House, William Buschmann Block, Delaware Court, Pearson Terrace, and The Spink.
