The women's triathlon at the 2024 Summer Olympics took place on July 31. The event took place on the same day as the men's event after the men's event was postponed due to water quality issues with the Seine river. [1] Cassandre Beaugrand of France won the gold medal, with Julie Derron of Switzerland and Beth Potter of Great Britain taking silver and bronze, respectively. [2]

The Summer Olympic Games, also known as the Games of the Olympiad, is a major international multi-sport event normally held once every four years. Triathlon had its Summer Olympics debut at the 2000 Games, in Sydney, when men's and women's individual events were first held, and has been contested since then. In 2021, at the delayed 2020 Summer Olympics a mixed team relay event was held for the first time. The sport, and its Olympic events, are governed by the International Triathlon Union, known since 2019 as World Triathlon.

The races were held over the "international distance" and consisted of 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) swimming, 43 kilometres (27 mi) road cycling, and 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) road running.

Vicky Holland is a British triathlete who is part of the Great Britain and Northern Ireland Olympic team, a 2-time World Mixed Team Champion and the 2018 ITU WTS champion. She was born in Gloucester. She is the first female triathlete to win an Olympic medal for Great Britain, a bronze in 2016. In 2021, she competed in the women's event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

The Triathlon competitions at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, in Glasgow, were held in Strathclyde Country Park. The men's and women's individual events were held on Thursday 24 July and women's triathlon was the first medal event of the Games. Mixed team relay was held on Saturday 26 July for the first time ever in major multi-sport Games. Marisol Casado, ITU President and IOC member, commented: "We are delighted the Glasgow 2014 Organising Committee has embraced the Triathlon Mixed Relay. Triathlon is on currently on a high in the United Kingdom, and the Mixed Relay will offer an extra opportunity for the people of Glasgow to watch another thrilling and unpredictable event live on their city streets."

Beth Potter is a multiple World Champion Scottish triathlete and long distance runner competing internationally for Great Britain, and for Scotland at the Commonwealth Games. She competed for Great Britain in athletics at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. In 2019 she won the gold medal at the European Triathlon Championships in Weert, Netherlands. In 2022, she won individual bronze at the 2022 World Triathlon Sprint Championships, and silver with Team Great Britain in the World Triathlon Mixed Relay Championships. In 2023, she won the Elite championship in the World Triathlon Championship Series, becoming the sixth British women's world champion.

He won the gold medal in the Men's Triathlon at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the silver medal in the same event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, the gold medal in the Triathlon Mixed Relay at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and the bronze medal in the same event at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. With two golds, one silver, and one bronze medals, Yee is the most successful triathlete in Olympic history.

The triathlon competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are scheduled to run from 31 July to 5 August at Pont Alexandre III, featuring a total of 110 athletes who will compete in each of the men's and women's events. After a successful debut at the 2020 Summer Olympics, the mixed relay competition will remain in the triathlon program for the second time.

The men's triathlon at the 2024 Summer Olympics took place on 31 July 2024. Alex Yee of Great Britain won the gold medal, with Hayden Wilde of New Zealand and Léo Bergère of France taking silver and bronze, respectively.
