The Carnic Alps are a range of the Southern Limestone Alps in Austria and northeastern Italy. They are within Austrian East Tyrol and Carinthia, and Italian Friuli and marginally in Veneto.

The Grande Casse is the highest mountain of the Vanoise Massif in the Graian Alps in the Savoie department, France. It is located in the heart of Vanoise National Park, near the village of Pralognan-la-Vanoise, which is about 25 km south-east of the nearest town, Moûtiers. It has a steep 600 m high north face. The other sides of the mountain are more gentle, mostly consisting of broken rocks. A high ridge connects it to the nearby peak of Grande Motte. The ridge connecting the Grande Casse and the Grande Motte is the watershed between the Tarentaise Valley in the north and Maurienne Valley to the south.
Carnia is a historical-geographic region in the northeastern Italian area of Friuli. Its 27 municipalities all belong to the province of Udine, which itself is part of the autonomous Friuli-Venezia Giulia region.
Monte Sernio is a remote mountain of the Carnic Alps, in Udine, northeast Italy, with an elevation of 2,187 m. It is located, together with the nearby Creta Grauzaria, in the mountain chain between the Incarojo Valley, near the village of Paularo, and the Aupa Valley. It was first climbed in 1879 by sisters Minetta and Annina Grassi.
Monte di Tremezzo is a mountain of the Lugano Prealps in Lombardy, Italy. It is the highest summit of a ridge just south of Porlezza commune, lying between Lake Lugano and Lake Como. Due to its modest height it is a relatively easy mountain to climb, but due to its great prominence it provides a good view across the lakes, and over to the High Alps; mountains as far away as Finsteraarhorn, Dom and Monte Leone can be seen on a clear day.
Creta Forata is a mountain of the Carnic Alps that lies on the border of Veneto and Friuli, northeast Italy, with an elevation of 2,462 m. It is located near the village of Sappada in the Piave Valley. Formed of limestone, it is the highest mountain of the eastern Terza - Siera Group and boasts a twin summit. It is of a similarly rugged nature as the Dolomites to the west.

It lies on the main chain of the range, between the Austrian Lesachtal Valley in the north and the Italian Piave Valley in the south. The mountain resembles a huge cubic block of the stone, with a large summit plateau, and dominates the view from miles around.
Monte Bìvera is a mountain of the Carnic Alps in Friuli, northeast Italy. It lies south of the main chain of the Carnics, north of the Tagliamento River and above the resort of Forni di Sopra. It is a twin peaked mountain, with the slightly lower Clapsavon just to the west, and it is formed of Limestone. A popular mountain to climb, from its summit many of the giants of the Dolomites can be seen to the West, the mighty Großvenediger to the north and the Julian Alps in the east.
Pizzo Diei is a mountain of the Lepontine Alps in Piedmont, northern Italy. It is located in the Alpe Veglia Nature Park in the commune of Varzo, and has a slightly lower sister peak, the pyramidal shaped Monte Cistella. The mountain is a popular ski mountaineering peak and its summit offers fine views of the Monte Rosa Massif.
Gartnerkofel is a mountain of the Carnic Alps in Carinthia, Austria. It is located on the main chain of the Carnics above the Naßfeld Pass, near the border with Italy. The nearest town is Hermagor-Pressegger See. The mountain has two summits, and ravines fall down from its northern slopes, which are separated by rocky ridges. The normal route is from the northwest, from where it an easy climb across the ridge to the summit. The mountain is also a popular ski touring destination.
The twin peaks of the Kellerspitzen form the second highest mountain in the Carnic Alps, a mountain range in the Southern Limestone Alps within both Austria and Italy. The two summits rise in the middle of the east-west oriented Kellerwandgrat, an arête that forms the main chain of the Carnic Alps here. The border between the Austrian state of Carinthia and the Italian Province of Udine runs along this ridge. The West Top (Westgipfel), also called the Grohmannspitze, is 2,718 m; the East or Main Top is 2,774 m. The mountain offers a wide panoramic view in all directions which, along with its numerous climbing routes, makes it a popular destination for mountaineers.
Monte Brentonti is a mountain of the Carnic Alps in the Belluno in Veneto, north-eastern Italy. It is the second highest peak of the Southern Carnics after Monte Terza Grande, and like its higher neighbour, is a Dolomitic mountain, being separated by the main Dolomite range only by the River Piave.
