Anneli Magnusson, known by her stage names Pandora and United DJs vs. Pandora, is a Swedish Eurodance singer. She was most popular during the mid-1990s in the Nordic countries and in Asia and Australia in the end of 1990s to mid-2000s.
"No Limit" is a song recorded by Belgian/Dutch Eurodance group 2 Unlimited, released in January 1993 by Byte, ZYX and PWL. It was their fifth single in total and the first to be released from their second album, No Limits! (1993). Co-written by the group's Ray Slijngaard and Anita Dels, the song became one of their most commercially successful singles, especially in Europe, reaching the number-one spot in 35 countries and the top 10 in several others. Like previous releases, the UK version of the single removed all of the raps from Slijngaard, leaving just Dels' vocals. One word from the rap was kept, the word 'Techno' which was looped and repeated during the middle of the song, turning the line into "Techno! Techno! Techno! Techno!" and giving the song an extra vocal hook. Its accompanying music video was directed by Nick Burgess-Jones and received heavy rotation on MTV Europe.
"Moi... Lolita" is the debut single by French singer Alizée, released in July 2000 from her debut studio album, Gourmandises (2000). The single topped the charts in Italy and Spain, while reaching the top five in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands.
"White and Black Blues" is a song recorded by French singer Joëlle Ursull, with music composed by Georges Augier de Moussac and French lyrics written by Serge Gainsbourg. It represented France in the Eurovision Song Contest 1990 held in Zagreb, placing second. It is the first single from her album Black French and has become something of a fan favourite.
"No Ordinary Love" is a song by English band Sade, released in September 1992 by Epic Records as the lead single and opening track from their fourth studio album, Love Deluxe (1992). The song is written by lead singer Sade Adu and Stuart Matthewman, and was a success in Europe and New Zealand. It reached number four in Italy, number 17 in New Zealand, number 19 in Finland and the Netherlands, number 20 in France and number 26 in the UK. In January 1993, the song peaked at number 15 in Canada and number 28 on the US Billboard Hot 100. When re-released in May 1993, "No Ordinary Love" reached a new peak of number 14 on the UK Singles Chart and number 21 in Australia. In the accompanying music video, directed by Sophie Muller, Sade Adu plays a mermaid who wants to be a bride.
"Whenever You Need Somebody" is a song written and produced by Stock Aitken Waterman, which became successful for two of their artists, namely O'Chi Brown and Rick Astley.
"The Riddle" is a song by the English singer-songwriter Nik Kershaw, released in 1984 as the lead single from his second studio album of the same name. Kershaw described the lyrical content as being nondescript to fill as a "guide vocal" for the production. It reached number three on the UK Singles Chart and peaked within the top 10 in countries like Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Australia and New Zealand. An accompanying music video was made for the song and features references to Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865).
"Ella, elle l'a" is a single released by French singer France Gall. It was released as a single from her album Babacar, on 24 August 1987, and became a hit across Europe, the Americas and Asia. It was covered live by French singer Alizée at a TV show in 2002 and by Belgian singer Kate Ryan in a dance version in 2008.
"This Is the Way" is a song by Swedish musician Bo Martin Erik Erikson, known under the pseudonym of E-Type. It features vocals by Swedish singer Nana Hedin and was released in 1994 as the second single from his debut album, Made in Sweden (1994). The single reached number-one in Sweden, and also peaked at number four in Denmark and number 18 in Finland. In France, it reached number 14 and remained for twenty weeks in the top 50. On the Eurochart Hot 100, the song peaked at number 40 in November 1994. Outside Europe, it reached number 15 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. E-Type won the prize for Best Swedish Dance Track 1996 at the 1997 Swedish Dance Music Awards with "This Is the Way".
"It's My Life" is a song by Nigerian-Swedish recording artist Dr. Alban. It was released by SweMix in February 1992 in Sweden as the first single from his second studio album, One Love (1992). Produced by Denniz PoP, who also co-wrote the song with Alban, it was a hit in most of the European countries where it was released, peaking at number one in Sweden, Austria, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium and number two in the British countries. In France, the song was marketed twice: first in 1992, then in 1993 because the song was used in a TV advert for Tampax tampons, thus giving to the single a second career. The song had enough airplay on US college radio stations to chart on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks in 1992. "It's My Life" was re-released in 1994 in Australia, following the success of "Sing Hallelujah!".
"Hold Me in Your Arms" is a song written and performed by English singer-songwriter Rick Astley. Released in early 1989 as the third single from his album Hold Me in Your Arms, it became a top ten hit in the United Kingdom and Ireland. In 2019, Astley recorded and released a "reimagined" version of the song for his album The Best of Me, which features a new piano arrangement.
"C'est ta chance" is the name of a 1987 song recorded by the French singer and songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman. It was released in April 1988 as the third single from his album Entre gris clair et gris foncé, on which it features as the fifth track. The song achieved a moderate success in France, in comparison with Goldman's previous and next singles.
"Take Me to Your Heart" is a 1988 song recorded by English singer-songwriter Rick Astley. Written and produced by Stock Aitken Waterman, the song was released the same year as the second single from the album, Hold Me in Your Arms. Not released in North America, it was a success on the UK Singles Chart where it peaked at number 8 and was also a top ten and a top 20 in many European other countries. Celebrating the announcement of the Hold Me in Your Arms remastered edition studio album, the music video has been upgraded to 4K as of 14 April 2023. The single was also reissued as a digital EP on the same day.
"Only Fools (Never Fall in Love)" is a song by British singer Sonia. It was produced by Nigel Wright for Sonia's second studio album, Sonia (1991). The song was written by Tony Hiller, who had success in the 1970s as manager for Brotherhood of Man, and one-time member Barry Upton. This song was released in May 1991 by label I.Q. as the album's first single, and was a top ten hit in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
"Das Boot" is the title theme to the film and TV series Das Boot, composed and produced by Klaus Doldinger, and released as a single in 1981. In 1991, the song was covered by German DJ and producer Alex Christensen and his dance music project U96. This techno version was U96's debut single, released by Polydor from the album of the same name (1992).
"Toy Boy" is a song by American-British singer Sinitta. Written and produced by Stock Aitken Waterman, it was released on 25 July 1987 and became the fourth single in her self-titled debut album, which came out on 26 December of the same year. It became a hit in the UK and in other European countries where it reached the top ten.
"She Wants to Dance with Me" is a song written and recorded by English singer-songwriter Rick Astley, released as the lead single from his second studio album, Hold Me in Your Arms (1988). The song was released in United Kingdom on September 12, 1988 by RCA, and became an international success, peaking in the top ten in many countries, including Canada, where it topped the chart, and the US and the UK, where it reached number six. In 2019, Astley recorded and released a "reimagined" version of the song for his album The Best of Me.
"Tell the World" is a song by Swedish singer Pandora. It was released in October 1994 as the lead single from her second studio album, Tell the World (1995). The single features an uncredited rap by M-Fuse and became Pandora's third top-5 single in Sweden, peaking at number 5 on the Swedish charts.
"Keep on Dancing!" is a song by Swiss artist DJ BoBo, taken from his debut album, Dance With Me (1993). It features vocals by Turkish-Swiss singer Emel Aykanat and was released in June 1993 via various labels as the follow-up to his successful 1992 hit single "Somebody Dance with Me". The song was both co-written and co-produced by René Baumann with Daniel Peyer, Gutze Gautschi and Mark Wyss. It was a number-one hit in Finland and charted in Europe, Australia and Israel. "Keep on Dancing!" earned a gold record in Germany.
"Hang On to Your Love" is a 1990 song by Australian singer Jason Donovan. It was released on 8 March 1990 as the second single from his second album Between the Lines, on which it appears as the second track. Written and produced by Stock Aitken Waterman, the song was accompagnied by a music video directed by Paul Goldman. The B-side, "You Can Depend on Me", is not another track from the Between the Lines album, but features on Donovan's previous album, Ten Good Reasons. It became a top ten hit in the UK and in Ireland, but was not officially released in Australia, following the tepid response to Donovan's prior single, "When You Come Back to Me".
