Tuen Mun South is the future northern terminus of MTR's Tuen Ma line. It is to be constructed elevated across Wu King Road and Wu Chui Road in Tuen Mun, Hong Kong. The construction of the station is gazetted as part of the Tuen Mun South extension by the Hong Kong Government in January 2022. [3] The station is expected to open for service in 2030. [2]
The station will have a bay platform built elevated above Wu King Road. It will have two separate concourses, the northern concourse around the current-day Wu King Road Garden, and the southern above the current-day Tuen Mun Public Pier public toilets. [5] [6]

Tuen Mun District is one of the 18 administrative districts of Hong Kong. It is the westernmost continental district of Hong Kong. It had a population of 506,879 in 2021. Of these, 64 000 are under the age of 18. Part of the district is the Tuen Mun New Town, which contains one of the largest residential areas in the New Territories.
Sha Tin District is one of the 18 districts of Hong Kong. As one of the 9 districts located in the New Territories, it covers the areas of Sha Tin, Tai Wai, Ma On Shan, Fo Tan, Siu Lek Yuen, Kwun Yam Shan and Ma Liu Shui. The district is the most populous district in Hong Kong, with a population of 659,794 as per 2016 by-census, having a larger population than many states or dependencies including Iceland, Malta, Montenegro and Brunei.
The West Rail line was a rapid transit line that formed part of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) system in Hong Kong until 27 June 2021. Coloured magenta on the MTR map, the line ran from Tuen Mun to Hung Hom, with a total length of 35.7 kilometres (22.2 mi), in 37 minutes. The railway connected the urban area of Kowloon and the new towns of Yuen Long, Tin Shui Wai and Tuen Mun in the northwestern New Territories.
The Light Rail, also known as the Light Rail Transit (LRT), officially the North-West Railway, is a light rail system in Hong Kong, serving the northwestern New Territories, within Tuen Mun District and Yuen Long District. The system operates over 1,435 mmstandard gauge track, using 750 V DC overhead power supply. It was once one of four systems comprising the KCR network in Hong Kong, before the MTR–KCR merger in 2007. It has a daily ridership of about 483,000 people. The line is colour warm yellow on the map, formerly deep orange before the MTR–KCR merger.
Tuen Mun is an MTR station in Tuen Mun, New Territories, Hong Kong. It is the western terminus of the Tuen Ma line. The station is elevated over the Tuen Mun River, near the Town Park in the centre of Tuen Mun New Town. The first train to Wu Kai Sha departs at 5:45 a.m., and the last train departs at 12:15 a.m. the day after.
Siu Hong is an MTR station located beside Siu Hong Court, Tuen Mun, New Territories, Hong Kong. It is built on the Tuen Mun Nullah immediately east of Siu Hong Court. The station is on the Tuen Ma line between Tin Shui Wai and Tuen Mun stations. Elevated public transport interchanges are provided at both the south and north ends of the station. Two access ramps link the public transport interchanges to Castle Peak Road and Tsing Lun Road for access to feeder services such as buses, minibuses, and taxis.
Nam Cheong is a MTR interchange station located at ground level beneath West Kowloon Highway, in Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong opposite the Fu Cheong Estate. It is served by the Tung Chung and Tuen Ma lines and provides cross-platform interchange between platform 1 and platform 4. The livery of Nam Cheong station is pale yellow green.
Hung Hom is a passenger railway station in Hung Hom, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It is an interchange station between the East Rail line and the Tuen Ma line domestic services of the MTR network, as well as the southern terminus of cross-border through-trains to mainland China which has been suspended since 4 February 2020. The station is one of four Hong Kong ports of entry on the MTR network; the others are Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau, and West Kowloon. This station serves the southern terminus of the East Rail Line in early morning before the first northbound train from Admiralty arrives. As the station is located next to the Cross-Harbour Tunnel's northern portal, it is also served by many cross-harbour bus routes.
Tuen Mun or Castle Peak is an area near the mouth of Tuen Mun River and Castle Peak Bay in the New Territories, Hong Kong. It was one of the earliest settlements in what is now Hong Kong and can be dated to the Neolithic period. In the more recent past, it was home to many Tanka fishermen who gathered at Castle Peak Bay. Tuen Mun is now a modern, mainly residential area in the north-west New Territories. As of 2011, 487,546 live in Tuen Mun and over 95% of them are Chinese.
Tuen Mun New Town, commonly referred to simply as Tuen Mun, is a satellite town of Hong Kong. It is one of the new towns that were developed by the Hong Kong Government in the New Territories from the 1960s. It was built around the existing rural local centre of Tuen Mun, which has since been referred to as the Tuen Mun Kau Hui and the Tuen Mun San Hui. The new town covers most of the urban area of Tuen Mun District.
Several future projects on the MTR have been put forward by the MTR Corporation to the Hong Kong Government. Some of these are still in planning stage.
The Tuen Ma line is a rapid transit line that forms part of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) system in Hong Kong. Coloured brown on the map, the Tuen Ma line is 56.2 kilometres (34.9 mi) in length, making it the longest line of the MTR network. It has a total of 27 stations, more than any other in the MTR system.
Hin Keng is a station on the Tuen Ma line, part of the MTR rapid transit network in Hong Kong. It opened on 14 February 2020 as part of the Tuen Ma line's first phase. It was built as part of the Sha Tin to Central Link project. The station is located near Hin Keng Estate in Tai Wai, Sha Tin, New Territories. It is an elevated station with one entrance facing Che Kung Miu Road.

Kong Sham Western Highway, formerly known as the Deep Bay Link is a highway in Hong Kong. It is 5.4 kilometres (3.4 mi) long and has three lanes in each direction. Its northern end is at Ngau Hom Shek, near Deep Bay, and its southern end is at Lam Tei, in Tuen Mun District. Together with the Hong Kong–Shenzhen Western Corridor, it forms the Route 10 of the Hong Kong Strategic Route and Exit Number System and provides road access from Hong Kong to the mainland. The link itself consists of 108,000 m2 of deck space over 3,014 segments.
Hong Kong's rail network mainly comprises public transport trains operated by the MTR Corporation Limited (MTRC). The MTRC operates the metro network of the territory, the commuter rail network connecting the northeastern, northwestern and southwestern New Territories to the urban areas, and a light rail network in northwestern New Territories. The operations of the territory's two leading railway companies, MTRC and the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC), were merged in 2007 on grounds of economies of scale and cost effectiveness. The Hong Kong Government has an explicit stated transport policy of using railways as its transport backbone.
The Tuen Mun South extension is a proposed 2.4-kilometre (1.5 mi) extension of the MTR rapid transit network in Hong Kong. It extends the existing train service of Tuen Ma line to the tentatively named A16 station in Tuen Mun Area 16 and ultimately a new northern terminus, Tuen Mun South, near Tuen Mun Ferry Pier. The extension will extend southwards from the current northern terminus, Tuen Mun station. The journey time from Tuen Mun South to Tuen Mun is estimated to be approximately 5 minutes. The track is planned to run on a viaduct. So Tuen Mun Ferry Pier stop will be renamed as Tuen Mun South.
The Tuen Mun–Chek Lap Kok Link is a road project in the New Territories, Hong Kong. It comprises two elements: the "Northern Connection" and the "Southern Connection". The Northern Connection comprises an undersea tunnel crossing the Urmston Road, linking Tuen Mun to the "Boundary Crossing Facilities" (BCF), an artificial peninsula connected to Hong Kong International Airport. The Southern Connection, officially named Shun Long Road (順朗路), comprises viaducts linking the BCF to North Lantau Highway on Lantau Island.
A16 is an MTR station on the Tuen Ma line to be constructed elevated on the bank of Tuen Mun River at the current site of Tuen Mun Swimming Pool in Tuen Mun Area 16. The construction of the station is gazetted as part of the Tuen Mun South extension by the Hong Kong Government in January 2022. The station is expected to open for service in 2030.
