The UC Davis Aggies baseball team represents the University of California, Davis in the sport of baseball. The team competes in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and in the Big West Conference. They are currently led by head coach Tommy Nicholson, who has held the position since 2022.
The Aggies competed at the NCAA Division II level through 2005. At that level, they appeared in the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship 7 times, including two appearances in the College World Series, where they earned fifth-place finishes each time. At the Division I level, the Aggies have made one appearance in the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship, in 2008, where they finished 1–2 in regional competition. [2]
In 2008, future major leaguer Ty Kelly led the Big West Conference with a .397 batting average as a sophomore, and was #2 in the Big West Conference in hits with 94; his career batting average and hits total rank second and third, respectively, in Aggies history. [3]

In July 2021, the entire UC Davis Aggies baseball program was suspended and the coaching staff was placed on administrative leave due to allegations of misconduct. [4] An internal investigation found that players engaged in hazing rituals that included binge drinking, eating live goldfish, strippers, and threats of sexual assault. The team was allowed to resume some activities in October under the supervision of an interim coaching staff. [5] Manager Matt Vaughn resigned in November after the administration found he had failed to address concerns regarding a complaint about hazing from 2018. [6]
The UC Irvine Anteaters are the athletic teams fielded by the University of California, Irvine. Its athletics programs participate in the NCAA's Division I, as members of the Big West Conference and the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. For earlier years of the school's existence, the teams participated at the Division II level with great success as explained below.
The Texas A&M Aggies are the students, graduates, and sports teams of Texas A&M University. The nickname "Aggie" was once common at land-grant or "ag" (agriculture) schools in many states. Robert Allen Williams is an American college basketball coach and the former head men's basketball coach at the UC Santa Barbara. He is sometimes referred to as the Dean of the Big West Conference's basketball coaches. He was previously the head coach at the UC Davis, winning the NCAA Men's Division II Basketball Championship in 1998. Williams is the all-time winningest coach at UC Santa Barbara with a 19-year record of 313–260.
The New Mexico State University teams are called the Aggies, a nickname derived from the university's agricultural beginnings. The mascot is known as "Pistol Pete". NMSU's colors are crimson and white. Since 2023 the Aggies have competed in Conference USA in all men's and women's sports. New Mexico State sponsors six men's and ten women's teams in NCAA sanctioned sports. The athletic director is Mario Moccia, who has held the position since January 2015.

The 2021 UC Davis football team represented the University of California, Davis as a member of the Big Sky Conference during the 2021 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The season Led by fifth-year head coach Dan Hawkins, the Aggies compiled an overall record of 8–4 with a mark of 5–3 in conference play, tying for third place in the Big Sky. UC Davis received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division I Football Championship playoff, where they lost to South Dakota State in the first round. The Aggies played home games at UC Davis Health Stadium in Davis, California.

Due to UC San Diego's transition to Division I, the Aggies were the No. 2 seed in the Big West tournament, where they defeated Hawaii in the semifinals before losing to Long Beach State in the championship game.
