Davis is the most populous city in Yolo County, California, United States. Located in the Sacramento Valley region of Northern California, the city had a population of 66,850 in 2020, not including the on-campus population of the University of California, Davis, which was over 9,400 in 2016. As of 2023, there were 40,850 students enrolled at the university.

The University of California, Davis School of Law is the professional graduate law school of the University of California, Davis. The school received ABA approval in 1968. It joined the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) in 1968.

The University of California, Merced is a public land-grant research university in Merced, California, United States. It is one of the ten campuses in the University of California (UC) system. Established in 2005, UC Merced is the newest campus within the UC system. The primary campus is located around five miles north of Merced and sits adjacent to Lake Yosemite. The main campus is around 1,026 acres in size. Large swaths of protected natural grasslands surround the university.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">UC Davis Marching Band</span> Marching band of the University of California, Davis

The UC Davis Marching Band is the official marching band of the University of California, Davis, organized in fall of 2019. It is the successor to the student-run California Aggie Marching Band-uh!, which existed from the 1920s to 2019. In 2018, the Band-uh had roughly 250 members. It performed at home and away games to cheer on the UC Davis Aggies sports teams, marched in parades, and played at events on the UC Davis campus as well as in the surrounding Davis community.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Delaine Eastin</span> American politician from California (1947–2024)

Delaine Andree Eastin was an American politician and educator from California. A professor by education, she was the first woman to be elected California State Superintendent of Public Instruction (1995–2003) since the office was first held in January 1851. Eastin represented parts of Alameda County and Santa Clara County in the California State Assembly between 1986 and 1994. She was a member of the Democratic Party.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">UC Davis Aggies football</span> American college football team

The UC Davis Aggies football team represents the University of California, Davis in NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The football program's first season took place in 1915, and has fielded a team each year since with the exception of 1918 during World War I and from 1943 to 1945 during World War II, when the campus, then known as the University Farm, was shut down. The team was known as the Cal Aggies or California Aggies from 1922 to 1958 when UC Davis was called the Northern Branch of the College of Agriculture.

The UC Davis pepper spray incident occurred on November 18, 2011, during an Occupy movement demonstration at the University of California, Davis. After asking the protesters to leave several times, university police pepper sprayed a group of student demonstrators as they were seated on a paved path in the campus quad. The video of UC Davis police officer Lt. John Pike pepper-spraying demonstrators spread around the world as a viral video and the photograph became an Internet meme. Officer Alex Lee also pepper sprayed demonstrators at Pike's direction.

The 2018 United States Senate election in California took place on November 6, 2018, to elect a member of the United States Senate to represent California, concurrently with other elections to the United States Senate, elections to the United States House of Representatives, and various state and local elections.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2018 California lieutenant gubernatorial election</span>

The 2018 California lieutenant gubernatorial election was held on November 6, 2018, to elect the lieutenant governor of California. Incumbent Democratic lieutenant governor Gavin Newsom was ineligible to run for reelection due to term limits and ran for governor of California instead. Democrats Eleni Kounalakis and Ed Hernandez faced each other in the general election, as no Republican finished in the top two positions of the nonpartisan blanket primary that was held on June 5, 2018.

The 1929 Cal Aggies football team represented the Northern Branch of the College of Agriculture—now known as the University of California, Davis—as a member of the Far Western Conference (FWC) during the 1929 college football season. Led by second-year head coach Crip Toomey, the Aggies compiled an overall record of 6–2 with a mark of 5–0 in conference play, winning the FWC title. The team outscored its opponents 116 to 25 for the season with all six of their victories coming via shutout. The Cal Aggies played home games at Sacramento Stadium in Sacramento, California.

The 2007 UC Davis football team represented the University of California, Davis as a member of the Great West Conference (GWC) during the 2007 NCAA Division I FCS football season. Led by 15th-year head coach Bob Biggs, UC Davis compiled an overall record of 5–6 with a mark of 1–3 in conference play, placing fourth in the GWC. The losing record ended a streak of 37 consecutive winning season for the program. The team was outscored by its opponents 349 to 306 for the season. The Aggies played home games at the newly-opened Aggie Stadium in Davis, California.

The 2010 UC Davis football team represented the University of California, Davis as a member of the Great West Conference (GWC) during the 2010 NCAA Division I FCS football season. Led by 18th-year head coach Bob Biggs, UC Davis compiled an overall record of 6–5 with a mark of 3–1 in conference play, placing second in the GWC. The team was outscored by its opponents 295 to 233 for the season. The Aggies played home games at Aggie Stadium in Davis, California.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Alex Lee (politician)</span> American politician

Alex Tianming Lee is an American politician who has served as a member of the California State Assembly since 2020, having represented the 24th district since 2022 and the 25th district from 2020 to 2022. A member of the Democratic Party, Lee's district includes Fremont, Newark, Sunol, Milpitas, and parts of western San Jose.
