Unity – National Movement (Georgian :ერთიანობა – ნაციონალური მოძრაობა, romanized:ertianoba – natsionaluri modzraoba) is an informal politician coalition of pro-Western political parties in Georgia. The coalition includes United National Movement, Strategy Aghmashenebeli, and European Georgia. It was created prior to the 2024 Georgian parliamentary election, in which it received 10.2% and finished on 3rd place. [7]
On 20 July 2023, United National Movement (UNM) and Strategy Aghmashenebeli (SA) announced the formation of a political coalition titled Victory Platform with the aim of unifying pro-Western opposition in Georgia and defeating Bidzina Ivanishvili and his ruling Georgian Dream party in the upcoming 2024 parliamentary election. [8] The alliance was later renamed to Unity - To Save Georgia (which was itself altered to Unity – National Movement) on 8 July 2024. [9] The parties in the coalition are signatories to the Georgian Charter initiated by the president Salome Zourabichvili that sets out goals for a possible future government. [10]
The leadership of the platform includes Tina Bokuchava, chairperson of UNM, and Giorgi Vashadze, chair of Strategy Agmashenebeli, as well as independent MPs Tamar Kordzaia and Armaz Akhvlediani. Sopo Japaridze, a representative of former president Mikheil Saakashvili, also plays a role, alongside political scientist and professor Gia Japaridze and historian and writer Lasha Bakradze. Civic activists Ana Mosadze and Irakli Pavlenishvili, a member of UNM, are involved, along with Lasha Diarovi, leader of the youth wing of Strategy Agmashenebeli. [9]
Following an internal dispute and split within European Georgia (with departing members forming a new party called the Federalists), the remaining members of European Georgia joined Unity - National Movement. [11] [12]
In the parliamentary election, the coalition received 10.2% and finished on 3rd place, being granted 16 seats in the Georgian parliament. It also became a second largest opposition faction in the parliament. [13]

United National Movement also colloquially known as the Natsebi is a liberal conservative political party in Georgia. Tina Bokuchava serves as the party's chairman, while its honorary chairman Mikheil Saakashvili is considered the de facto leader. UNM's electoral number is 5.
Free Democrats, previously known as Our Georgia – Free Democrats is a liberal and pro-Western political party in Georgia. It was founded by Irakli Alasania, Georgia's former envoy to the United Nations, on 16 July 2009. Tamar Kekenadze serves as the party's current chairman.
Nika Gvaramia is a Georgian lawyer, media entrepreneur, public figure, who had held posts of Minister of Justice and Minister of Education and Science. He was the Director General of Rustavi 2 and Mtavari Arkhi and he's also founder of Mtavari Arkhi, an opposition television network. On March 11, he co-founded the political party Ahali and alliance Coalition for Change alongside other opposition figure Nika Melia. In the 2024 Georgian parliamentary election, the alliance finished on 2nd place, becoming the leading opposition grouping.
Giorgi Vashadze is a Georgian politician and international policy expert who served as a member of the Parliament of Georgia from 2012 to 2016 and from 2020 up to the present. He is a founder and international key expert of Innovation and Development Foundation (IDF)Archived 2021-03-02 at the Wayback Machine, international think-tank that is committed to design public policy solutions and reform packages. In May 2016, Giorgi Vashadze founded a political party ‘Political Platform - New Georgia’.
State for the People was a conservative political party in Georgia. It was founded by the Georgian operatic bass Paata Burchuladze in 2016 participating in the election held the same year in a bloc of the same name. The coalition failed to cross 5% after which Burchuladze left the party, with Nika Machutadze becoming the chairman.
Yes to Europe – Strategy Aghmashenebeli, sometimes translated as Strategy Builder is a centrist pro-Western political party in Georgia. Originally going by the name New Georgia, it was founded in 2016 by Giorgi Vashadze, who along with supporters split from United National Movement.
United National Movement – United Opposition "Strength is in Unity" Faction was a politician coalition and a parliamentary faction in Georgia. It was led by United National Movement, the largest party within the bloc, and additionally included Progress and Freedom and Victorious Georgia parties. It was one of the two factions in the 10th Parliament of Georgia, serving in the opposition to the Georgian Dream government.
Law and Justice is a centre-right political party in Georgia. The party was formed in 2019 by Tako Charkviani with it joining the Strength is in Unity political coalition. Kutaisi Municipal Assembly is a representative body in the city of Kutaisi, Georgia. currently consisting of 35 members; of these, 28 are proportional representatives and 7 are elected through single-member districts, representing their constituencies. It was established in the early 1990s, after Georgia's independence. The council is assembled into session regularly, to consider subject matters such as code changes, utilities, taxes, city budget, oversight of city government and more. Kutaisi sakrebulo is elected every four years. Currently, the city council has 5 committees. The last election was held in october 2021. The ruling party of Georgian Dream won the majority of votes. The current Chairperson of Kutaisi City Assembly is Irakli Shengelia.
The 2020–2021 Georgian political crisis was a political crisis in Georgia that resulted from allegations by opposition parties that the 2020 Georgian parliamentary election was rigged. The opposition accused the ruling Georgian Dream party of election fraud and did not recognize the results. They announced protests and parliamentary boycott. The opposition held a rally on November 1, a day after the elections, and called for snap parliamentary elections. On November 2, the eight opposition parties refused to enter parliament. In February 2021, Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia resigned over plans to arrest opposition leader Nika Melia, which occurred on 23 February.

Parliamentary elections were held in Georgia on 26 October 2024. The elections were held under the rules passed in 2017 through the constitutional amendments which shifted the electoral system towards a fully proportional representation with a 5% electoral threshold.
