Urakam [3] or Oorakam [4] is a neighbourhood near Cherpu in Thrissur [5] of Kerala state in the peninsular India.
It is located with the geographic coordinates of 10°25′39″N76°12′58″E / 10.4274°N 76.2160°E at an altitude of about 32.39 metres (106.3 ft) above the mean sea level.

Kunnamkulam is a municipal town situated in the Thrissur District of Kerala in India. Spread over an area of 34.18 km2, it is an old commercial town, with an ancient history. It is famous for its printing and book-binding industry. In the past, the town was called Kunnankulangara and references can be seen many British Archives about a neat and prosperous town which was predominantly Christian. Mammiyur Mahadeva Temple is a popular Shiva temple situated in Guruvayoor, Thrissur district of Kerala, India. Every devotee who goes to Guruvayur Temple is supposed to go to Mammiyoor also, as the ritual goes. Only Hindus are allowed inside the temple premises. The temple is a part of the 108 famous Shiva temples in Kerala and one among the five Shiva temples around Guruvayoor. The main deity is Lord Shiva, who is installed in the concept of 'Uma Maheshwara' - His form with Goddess Parvathi on his left. There is a shrine for Lord Vishnu also here. The sub-deities are Lord Ganapathi, Lord Subrahmanya, Lord Ayyappan, Goddess Kali and Serpent deities. This temple is managed by Malabar Devaswom Board. Daily three poojas are conducted. Puzhakkara Chennas Mana is the hereditary Thanthri of this temple too. Shivaratri and Ashtami Rohini are the major festivals.

Paramekkavu Bagavathi Temple is one of the largest Bagavathi temples in Kerala located in Thrissur City. Sakthan Thampuran ordained the temples into two groups, namely "Paramekkavu side" and "Thiruvambady side" for Thrissur Pooram which is the biggest festival in South India and Kerala. These two groups are headed by the principal participants, Paramekkavu Bagavathi Temple at Thrissur Swaraj Round and Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple at Shoranur road. The two temples are hardly 500 metres apart. Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple is one of the two groups participating in Thrissur Pooram. The Paramekkavu temple devaswom have a school known as Paramekkavu Vidya Mandir at MLA road near Kutoor and one KG section near to the temple itself.
Kuttankulangara Sri Krishna Temple located in Punkunnam, Thrissur district of Kerala, south India and is considered to be over a 300 years old. It is located in the Kuttankulangara ward of Thrissur Municipal Corporation. This temple is a classic example of the Kerala style of architecture. It is 500 m away from Punkunnam Railway station. It is believed that the god gives the fortune of progeny(സന്താനം). There is an interesting ritual called Pannivetta(പന്നി വേട്ട); model of pig is made and a hunter arrows it down at the base of the Banyan Tree (ആല്ത്തറ).
Amala Nagar is an Indian village in the Thrissur district of Kerala. It has Amala Institute of Medical Sciences, one of medical colleges of Thrissur district.
