Vake District includes neighborhoods: Vake, Bagebi, Upper Saburtalo, Nutsubidze Plateau, Tskneti, Tkhinvala, Agaraki, Akhaldaba, Betania, and Kveseti.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Saburtalo Line</span> Tbilisi Metro line

The Saburtalo Line is a line of the Tbilisi Metro in Georgia. The line was first opened in 1979, running originally from Station Square, where Tbilisi Central Railway station is located to Delisi and has since extended to the western residential districts of the city, near Tbilisi State University’s X and XI buildings. It is a second line of the system and runs from the east and west direction of Tbilisi, in contrast to the First Line which runs north-south axis of the city. The line is named after Saburtalo, the district, and neighbourhood of Tbilisi, where 5 of 7 stations of this line are located. Alternatively, the line is being referred to simply as 2nd Line.

Erosi Kitsmarishvili was a Georgian media executive and served as Ambassador of Georgia to the Russian Federation from April to July 2008. Appointed in April 2008, Kitsmarishvili was recalled on 11 July after Russia confirmed it had conducted military flights over South Ossetia, a breakaway region of Georgia that would be occupied by Russia after the August 2008 War between the two states.

Rustaveli is a station of the Tbilisi Metro on the Akhmeteli–Varketili Line. It is located at Rustaveli Square at the northern end of Rustaveli Avenue next to the Shota Rustaveli statue. The station was opened on 11 January 1966 as part of the original metro line with six stations, which include stations from Didube to Rustaveli.

Alexander Kazbegi Avenue is one of the main avenues of Tbilisi and is named after the writer Alexander Kazbegi. The avenue is located on the right bank of the Kura River in the Saburtalo and Vake districts of Tbilisi and starts at Pekini Avenue and ends at Petre Kavtaradze street. In 1941 it was originally named Pavlov street. The development of the street began in 1956 with several administrative educational buildings. In 1990 Pavlov street was renamed into Alexander Kazbegi Avenue.

Delisi is a metro station on the Saburtalo Line in Tbilisi, Georgia. The station is named after the historic settlement of Delisi, which today is used to refer to this area of Saburtalo surrounding the metro station. From 1995 to 2006 the station was known as Gotsiridze in honor of Viktor Gotsiridze, one of the founders of the Tbilisi Metro.

A significant flood occurred in the Vere River valley in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, on the night of 13 to 14 June 2015. It resulted in at least 20 human deaths and struck the Tbilisi Zoo, leaving half of its animal inhabitants either dead or on the loose.

Zakaria Paliashvili Street is a street of Tbilisi and is named after the Georgian composer Zacharia Paliashvili. The street is located on the right bank of the Kura River in the Vake district of Tbilisi, from Korneli Kekelidze Street to Archil Mishveladze Street. Paliashvili street originated in the 1920s. Formerly it was called Vake Street, according to the 1926 reference of Tbilisi - Vake Avenue. In the 1925-1926 reference book "All of Tiflis", the street is included in the list of new streets in Vake. It was named after Zacharia Paliashvili in the 1930s. Alexander Tvalchrelidze Caucasus Mineral Resources Institute is on the street. There is a monument of Konstantine Gamsakhurdia in the square of the same name.

The former student halls on Chavchavadze Ave are buildings in the Vake District of Tbilisi, Georgia. The four two-storey buildings, which used to be residence halls for Tbilisi State University, are mostly populated by the IDPs from Abkhazia region, who escaped the Russian Occupation of the region in the early 1990s.
