Vedang Raina (born 2 June 2000) is an Indian actor. He is known for his role as Reggie Mantle in Zoya Akhtar's teen film The Archies (2023). [1] [2]
Vedang Raina was born on June 2, 2000 in New Delhi into a Kashmiri family and grew up in Mumbai. [3] He completed his schooling from Jamnabai Narsee School in Juhu and subsequently pursued his bachelor's degree from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (SVKM's NMIMS) in Vile Parle. [4] He started out small with college fests and events, enjoying the time he spent on stage. [5] Raina developed an interest in music and played the guitar years before he had thought about acting. Towards the end of his college years, he decided to venture into modelling and music. [6] He subsequently joined an acting agency to pursue it as a career. [7]
After modelling for several brands, Raina was scouted by Zoya Akhtar for The Archies in 2021 in which he stole everyone viewer's heart through his acting. Akhtar claimed that he had not thought about acting at that point. [8] He was officially announced to be playing the role of Reggie Mantle in May 2022. [9] [10] It was released on Netflix in 2023. Udita Jhunjhunwala of Scroll.in wrote that he "brings the right amount of swag to the rakish Reggie". [11]
Raina will next appear in the Dharma Productions-produced thriller Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt. [12]

Reginald "Reggie" Mantle is a fictional teenager in stories published by Archie Comics; he is introduced by writer-artist Bob Montana and John L. Goldwater in Jackpot Comics #5. He also appears in CW's Riverdale. He is the frenemy of Archie Andrews, as well as the bassist of The Archies. The live-action version of Reggie is portrayed by Ross Butler and Charles Melton in Riverdale and Vedang Raina in The Archies.

The Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest and Awards are yearly honors that recognize artistic and technical excellence in Hindi-language original programming within the over-the-top (OTT) space. The inaugural awards ceremony took place on 18 October 2023, at Taj Lands End, Mumbai. It included films and series released between 2022 and 2023. The OTT India Fest was organized by the digital entertainment company Bollywood Hungama in collaboration with Cinema Waale Film and Television Productions LLP and Across Media Solutions and was presented by Sonata Poze.
Despite those exciting plot points, Raina insists he lives a "really regular, simple life in Mumbai," where his Kashmiri family moved from Delhi when he was a kid.
