Vermileonidae Family of wormlion flies

The Brachyceran family Vermileonidae is a small family of uncertain affinities and unusual biology. It includes fewer than 80 described species, most of them rare and with restricted distribution, in 10 genera. Historically the vermileonids had been regarded as belonging to the family Rhagionidae, possibly in a subfamily Vermileoninae. Their biology and morphology are so markedly distinct from the main Rhagionidae sensu stricto however, that the placement as a separate family has been widely accepted.

Triplophysa Genus of fishes

Triplophysa is a genus of fish in the family Nemacheilidae found mainly in and around the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in China. Currently, the genus is a mixed assemblage of species. Some lineages have been identified and treated as subgenera, but as Wikipedia follows Fishbase for fish species all but Hedinichthys have been treated as subgenera in Wikipedia, although Kottelat in his revision of the loaches did recognise them as valid. FishBase, however, includes these in Triplophysa without specifying subgenera and treats the names given by Kottelat as synonyms.

Homoeotricha is a genus of tephritid or fruit flies in the family Tephritidae.

Chrysotimus Genus of flies

Chrysotimus is a genus of longlegged flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is cosmopolitan in distribution, but it is probably paraphyletic with respect to several genera of limited distribution.

Nepalomyia is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.

Chalcosyrphus Genus of flies

Chalcosyrphus is a genus of hoverflies in the subfamily Eristalinae. Many species exhibit some degree of mimicry of various sawflies and other hymenopterans and are often brightly coloured or metallic in hue. The adults are similar in structure and behavior to the related genus Xylota but differ in larval morphology. They can be found throughout Europe, Asia, North America and South America and seem to prefer damper, boggy habitats. The larvae are saproxylic feeders in rotten wood in these habitats.

Cryptochetum Genus of flies

Cryptochetum is a genus of scale parasite flies in the family Cryptochetidae. There are more than 30 described species in Cryptochetum.
