The game was a finalist for Computer Games Strategy Plus ' 1998 "Racing Game of the Year" award, which ultimately went to Motocross Madness . The staff called the former "a fabulously rich game experience, with an excellent career mode and more customization options than you could find at a real Dodge dealer." [15]
Grand Prix Legends is a computer racing simulator developed by Papyrus Design Group and published in 1998 by Sierra On-Line under the Sierra Sports banner. It is inspired by the 1967 Grand Prix season; teams included are Brabham, BRM, Eagle, Ferrari and Lotus. Two fictional teams called "Murasama" and "Coventry" replaced the other big names. The Japanese team possibly because of copyright claims. Whilst it is rumoured the other fictional team was included due to a misunderstanding.
Midtown Madness is a 1999 racing game developed by Angel Studios and published by Microsoft for Microsoft Windows. The demo version was released in April 1999. Two sequels followed, with Midtown Madness 2 released in September 2000 and Midtown Madness 3 released in June 2003 for the Xbox. The game is set in Chicago; the object is for the player to win street races and obtain new cars.
Need for Speed: High Stakes, released as Need for Speed: Road Challenge in Europe, is a 1999 racing video game developed by EA Canada and EA Seattle and published by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation and Microsoft Windows.
