Visions-Partiet, also Visionspartiet, (English: The Visions Party) is a political party in Denmark. The party was founded in 2002 for a holistic approach to political problems. [1] Stated platform issues have included: environmentalism, the integration of alternative medicines in public health, promotion of organic foods, and probation reforms. [2] The founder and first chairman was Eskild Tjalve, an artist and former civil engineering instructor at the Technical University of Denmark. [3]

A political party is an organized group of people, often with common views, who come together to contest elections and hold power in the government. The party agrees on some proposed policies and programmes, with a view to promoting the collective good or furthering their supporters' interests.

Environmentalism broad philosophy, ideology and social movement

Environmentalism or environmental rights is a broad philosophy, ideology, and social movement regarding concerns for environmental protection and improvement of the health of the environment, particularly as the measure for this health seeks to incorporate the impact of changes to the environment on humans, animals, plants and non-living matter. While environmentalism focuses more on the environmental and nature-related aspects of green ideology and politics, ecology combines the ideology of social ecology and environmentalism. Ecology is more commonly used in continental European languages while ‘environmentalism’ is more commonly used in English but the words have slightly different connotations.

Alternative medicine Form of non-scientific healing

Alternative medicine are generally practices that lack biological plausibility and are untested or untestable. In a few cases they are proven ineffective. Complementary medicine (CM), complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), integrated medicine or integrative medicine (IM), and holistic medicine are among many rebrandings of the same phenomenon. While the aim is to achieve the healing effects of medicine, alternative therapies share in common that they reside outside medical science, and rely on pseudoscience. The alternative is distinct from the experimental, which employs scientific method to test plausible therapies by way of responsible and ethical clinical trials, producing evidence of either effect or of no effect. Research into alternative treatments often fails to follow proper research protocol and denies calculalaton of prior probability, providing invalid results. Traditional practices become "alternative" when used outside their original settings without proper scientific explanation and evidence. Frequently used derogatory terms for the alternative are new-age or pseudo, with little distinction from quackery.

The party ran for regional and municipal elections in 2005 [4] [5] [6] and 2009, [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] with no candidates elected.
