Vistlip (typeset as vistlip) is a five-member Japanese visual kei rock band that formed on July 7, 2007, and is currently signed to Delfi Sound and Marvelous Entertainment.
The band was reported to have been driving along Nagae Tunnel down the Joushin’etsu Expressway in Nagano city, Nagano prefecture, when the band's car, driven by the drummer Tohya, crashed into the tunnel wall at approximately 1:15 a.m. The band's manager, Asako Sakakibara (31), had been in the backseat when the impact forced her out of the car. The damage that her body sustained led to her death. According to highway police, the rest of the passengers sustained minor neck and arm injuries and no other fatalities were reported.
After the accident the band took a six-month break from their activities. They resumed their activities in February 2011.
In September 2015, Vistlip reunited with Kiryū, R-shitei and BugLug for a tour together, named 4Byoshi. [2] In 2017, the tour occurred again. [3]
The vocalist Tomo said that in his sixth grade days he listened to L'Arc-en-Ciel a lot and it was the band that impulsionated him to become a vocalist and then in the first grade he discovered Dir En Grey and decided to jump into the visual kei scene. He has demonstrated interest in The Gazette too and some J-pop artists and groups like AKB48 and Arashi. He also like some westerns bands like Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit and Slipknot.
The guitarist Yuh said that he got in rock music through Lenny Kravitz. He also quoted Japanese bands that influenced him like X Japan, L'Arc-en-Ciel, Luna Sea, Glay and Siam Shade. Yuh was into classical music from a young age, starting with the violin to cello to guitar.
The guitarist Umi said that hide and Luna Sea are the first visual kei artists he encountered. He said Rouage's major second single "Insomnia" and Laputa's major first single "硝子の肖像(Garasu no Shouzou)" got him into Visual Kei and started playing in a band. Like Tomo he also likes Dir En Grey too and it's easy to notice their influence in most of his looks as he is the member who wears the darkest and heaviest makeup most of the time. He also likes Mucc, deadman and Cali Gari. He said that Acidman and Limp Bizkit made him interested in other genres than the usual Visual Kei. [9]
The bassist Rui is notable influenced by L'Arc-en-Ciel and Hyde, he is a devoted fan. He also likes The Gazette. Some years ago he also talked about My Chemical Romance.
The drummer Tohya said that he was part of the brass band club during middle school. He also said that rhythm games was the roots of his curiosity for music and then he got interested on bands. Like Tomo and Yuh he also likes Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Glay and some J-pop acts. His the member that composes the major part of the melodies and in his compositions it is easy to notice the influence of these artists, genres (J-pop) and videogame music.

L'Arc-en-Ciel, stylized as L'Arc〜en〜Ciel and abbreviated as Laruku, is a Japanese rock band formed in Osaka in 1991 by bassist Tetsuya and vocalist Hyde. Following the departure of original members Hiro and Pero, guitarist Ken and drummer Sakura were recruited to replace them in 1992 and 1993, respectively. While they first got their start as a visual kei band, L'Arc-en-Ciel have not had any association with the movement since their major label debut in 1994. Sakura left the band in 1997 and was replaced by Yukihiro in January 1998, completing the current line-up.
Visual kei, abbreviated v-kei, is a category of Japanese musicians that have a strong focus on extravagant stage costumes that originated in Japan during the early 1980s. Koji Dejima of Bounce wrote that visual kei is not a specific sound, but rather it "revolves around the creation of a band's unique worldview and/or stylistic beauty through visual expressions in the form of makeup and fashion". While visual kei bands can be of any music genre, it is generally associated with glam rock, punk rock, and heavy metal.
Hideto Takarai, known by his stage name Hyde, is a Japanese musician, singer-songwriter, record producer, and actor. Best known as the lead vocalist of the rock band L'Arc-en-Ciel since 1991, he is also the lead vocalist of Vamps and has a solo career.
Extasy Records is a Japanese record label founded in April 1986 by Yoshiki Hayashi, co-founder of the heavy metal band X Japan. The label's first release was X's 1986 single "Orgasm".
Laputa was a Japanese Nagoya kei rock band, active from 1993 to 2004. The band chose its name from the flying island in Gulliver's Travels and tried to portray a similar unrealistic view of the world with their performance. Their 1997 album Emadara was named one of the top albums from 1989 to 1998 in a 2004 issue of the music magazine Band Yarouze.
Die in Cries was a Japanese visual kei rock band of the 1990s, whose members have all played in other prominent bands.
Ken is a Japanese musician and singer-songwriter, best known as guitarist of the rock band L'Arc-en-Ciel. After he joined them in 1992, they went on to sell over 40 million records, making them one of the best-selling music artists in Japan. He has written a breadth of L'Arc-en-Ciel's material, including "Vivid Colors", "The Fourth Avenue Cafe", "Niji", "Kasou", "My Heart Draws a Dream", "Daybreak's Bell" and "Chase". Ken was also the leader, vocalist and guitarist of Sons of All Pussys, and has released a solo album entitled In Physical.
Yukihiro is a Japanese musician, best known as drummer of the rock band L'Arc-en-Ciel since 1998. He also sings and plays bass for his solo project Acid Android, and drums for the supergroup Petit Brabancon. Before joining L'Arc-en-Ciel he was in the popular visual kei bands Zi:Kill and Die in Cries.
Cure is a Japanese rock music and fashion magazine published monthly. It features the latest visual kei bands as well as fashion and styling tips. It also has the latest news and trends on the visual kei music scene. Different artists are featured on the front and back cover every month. Regularly featured bands include Diaura, Mejibray, Royz, Blu-Billion, Arlequin, Baroque, R-Shitei, BugLug, Sadie, Daizystripper and DuelJewel. The magazine originally focused on lesser-known visual kei bands than those covered by magazines like Shoxx.
Core the Child was a Japanese visual kei rock/metal band formed in 2004, and was predecessor to the successful visual kei bands vistlip and Unsraw. They disbanded in 2006.
Matenrou Opera is a Japanese visual kei power metal band. It was formed in 2007 by vocalist Sono and drummer Yuu, who were previously in the band Jeniva together.
"Neo Universe/Finale" is the twentieth single by L'Arc-en-Ciel. this Double A-side single was released on January 19, 2000, as the second single from the band's eighth studio album, Real (2000). It debuted at number 1 on the Oricon chart and sold over 1.1 million copies, as certified by the RIAJ. "Finale" was used as the theme song of Ringu 0: Birthday. The third track is an instrumental song called "hole" which also featured in Ringu 0: Birthday during the opening sequence, and the fourth is a remix version of the song "Trick" from the band's seventh studio album Ray.

Masato David Hayakawa, known professionally as Masato, is a Japanese singer, musician, songwriter, producer and model. He is known for being the bandleader and vocalist of the Japanese rock band Coldrain since their formation in 2007. He was a former member of AVER, alongside one of his fellow Coldrain members, drummer Katsuma Minatani.
Codomo Dragon (コドモドラゴン) is a Japanese visual kei band formed in 2010. Currently they are on the label B.P Records, their line-up includes Hayato on vocals, Yume on guitar, meN-meN as bassist and Chamu on drums.
Jiluka is a Japanese visual kei metal band initially formed in May 2013 but restarted in February 2015. The group are an independent band on the label DPR Japan, consisting of members Ricko, Sena, the main songwriter of the songs, Boogie and Zyean. They have released 7 albums and 6 singles so far. It was ranked at the 12 position on the JRock News's top 15 visual kei and Japanese rock artists of 2019. Jiluka is described as "Modern metal visual kei".
Hazuki (葉月) is a Japanese singer, songwriter and musician, known for being the vocalist and main songwriter of visual kei band Lynch.
Kiryū (己龍) is a Japanese visual kei metal band founded in 2007 with the concept of "Japanese terror" and "painful nostalgia". Formed by vocalist Mahiro Kurosaki, guitarists Takemasa Kujō and Mitsuki Sakai, bassist Hiyori Isshiki and drummer Junji Tokai, each member is represented by a color. They have been part of the independent label B.P Records since 2009.
