The volleyball tournaments at the 2015 European Games in Baku were played between 13 and 28 June. 12 teams participated in the two indoor tournaments, while 32 pairs took part in each of the beach volleyball events. [1]
Each event will accept twelve entered teams. Qualification for indoor volleyball for the 2015 European Games is based on European rankings. Those rankings shall be taken on 1 January 2015, and based on the CEV Entry Ranking/Euro league participations. As hosts, Azerbaijan shall be entitled to entry in both indoor events, and nations will be restricted to single team of 14 players in each event. [2]
Each event will accept 32 entered teams. Qualification for beach volleyball will be based on the CEV Beach Volleyball Ranking on 1 January 2015. The top 30 teams in the rankings will be invited to enter, subject to a maximum entry of two teams per nation, while two team places will be reserved in each event for hosts Azerbaijan. [2]
FIVB has awarded Beach Volleyball the same ranking points as the continental tour masters which will be used for Rio 2016 Olympic Qualification purposes. [2]

The European Volleyball Confederation is the continental governing body for the sports of indoor volleyball, beach volleyball, and snow volleyball in Europe. Its headquarters is located in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg.
The men's Olympic beach volleyball tournament at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing took place at the Beach Volleyball Ground at Chaoyang Park from August 9 to August 22.
The volleyball tournaments at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro was played between 6 and 21 August. 24 volleyball teams and 48 beach volleyball teams, total 386 athletes, participated in the tournament. The indoor volleyball competition took place at Ginásio do Maracanãzinho in Maracanã, and the beach volleyball tournament was held at Copacabana Beach, in the temporary Copacabana Stadium.
A total of 464 athletes will compete at the volleyball competitions at the 2015 European Games; 336 in indoor volleyball and 128 in beach volleyball. Most of the qualification places will be based on the CEV Rankings as of 1 January 2015.
The fencing competitions at the 2015 European Games in Baku were held from 23 to 27 June 2015 at the Crystal Hall 3. Twelve events were contested. This is two more than the Olympic Games programme, and means all three formats had a team event in each gender.

The FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup is an international volleyball competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. Initially the tournament was played in the year following the Olympic Games, except for 1973 when no tournament was held, but since 1991 the World Cup has been awarded in the year preceding the Olympic Games.
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Andrey Rublev of the Russian Olympic Committee defeated compatriots Elena Vesnina and Aslan Karatsev in the final, 6–3, 6–7(5–7), [13–11] to win the gold medal in Mixed Doubles tennis at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The volleyball tournaments at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are scheduled to run from 27 July to 11 August 2024. 24 volleyball teams and 48 beach volleyball teams will participate in the tournament. Indoor volleyball competitions will occur at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles with the beach volleyball tournament staged at the Eiffel Tower Stadium in Champ de Mars.
