Sophie Xeon, known mononymously as SOPHIE, was an English music producer, songwriter, and DJ. Her work is known for its brash take on pop music and is distinguished by experimental sound design, "sugary" synthesized textures, and incorporation of underground dance styles. It would help pioneer the 2010s hyperpop microgenre.
PC Music is a record label and art collective based in London and run by producer A. G. Cook. It was founded in 2013, uploading its first releases to SoundCloud that year. Blane Muise, better known by her stage name Shygirl, is an English singer, DJ, rapper, songwriter and co-head/founder of record label and collective Nuxxe. Shygirl's music incorporates elements of dance music, hip-hop, experimental pop, grime and deconstructed club. She has also been associated with the hyperpop music scene. Shygirl rose to prominence after working with close collaborator and friend Sega Bodega, as well as other well-known experimental producers Arca and Sophie, and gaining attention from the likes of Rihanna, who has used various Nuxxe tracks for her Fenty Beauty commercials and fashion shows. Shygirl has released various singles since 2016, and three EPs titled Cruel Practice, Alias and Club Shy. Her debut studio album Nymph was released on 30 September 2022 to widespread acclaim from music critics.
Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides Non-Stop Remix Album is the only remix album by the English musician Sophie, released on 29 July 2019 through MSMSMSM, Future Classic, and Transgressive. A double-album, it features new songs and remixes from her debut studio album, Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides (2018). The album was first announced as a limited edition release with clutch bags. Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides Non-Stop Remix Album was positively received, with a Clash writer saying that it set a high bar for remix albums. It received a nomination at the AIM Independent Music Awards.
Ash Blue Gutierrez, known professionally as Glaive, is an American singer-songwriter. After posting a string of hyperpop songs to SoundCloud during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic that earned him a following, he signed a record deal with Interscope Records and released his debut extended play, Cypress Grove, in 2020. His debut album, I Care So Much That I Don't Care at All, was released in 2023. His second album, May It Never Falter, was released in 2024.
Sophie is the second and final studio album by English recording artist and producer Sophie. It was posthumously released on 25 September 2024. Her brother, Benny Long, took the lead in finalizing its production after her death. All of the tracks, excluding the first, have a featured artist.
