The National Front is a political coalition of Malaysia that was founded in 1973 as a coalition of centre-right and right-wing political parties. It is also the third largest political coalition with 30 seats in the Dewan Rakyat after coalition Pakatan Harapan with 82 seats and the coalition Perikatan Nasional with 73 seats.

The People's Justice Party is a reformist political party in Malaysia formed on 3 August 2003 through a merger of the party's predecessor, the National Justice Party, with the socialist Malaysian People's Party. The party's predecessor was founded by Wan Azizah Wan Ismail during the height of the Reformasi movement on 4 April 1999 after the arrest of her husband, former Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. In the first election contested by the party in 1999, the party would go on to win five seats in the Dewan Rakyat. However, an election wave for the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition in 2004 reduced the party to just one seat before another election wave in 2008 favoring the opposition increased the party's parliamentary representation to 31 seats as well as forming the government in 5 states, thus triggering the resignation of Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and a lift on the five-year political ban imposed on Anwar Ibrahim on 14 April 2008. The party is the second largest party in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition after the Democratic Action Party (DAP).

He is the longest-serving MP by serving from 1974 to 2022 for 48 years. Wan Azizah binti Wan Ismail is a Malaysian politician who is the spouse of Anwar Ibrahim, the current Prime Minister of Malaysia. She also served as the 12th Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Women, Family and Community Development in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad from May 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration during a political crisis in February 2020. She was the first female Deputy Prime Minister, as well as Leader of the Opposition and the highest ever female political officeholder in the history of Malaysia.
The Pengkalan Pasir by-election was held on 6 December 2005 in the Pengkalan Pasir state assembly constituency of the PAS-governed state of Kelantan, Malaysia. Nominations were held on 27 November 2005, and the election was contested by Hanifa Ahmad of Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), Hanafi Mamat of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition, and Ibrahim Ali, an independent candidate. The by-election was necessitated after the death of the incumbent, Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Jaafar from PAS, on 31 October because of cancer. Wan Abdul Aziz defeated Hanafi by 55 votes in the 2004 general election. In 2005, there are 18,411 eligible voters and 195 registered postal voters; 94.8% Malay and 5.2% Chinese in Pengkalan Pasir.

Wan Abdul Rahim bin Wan Abdullah is a Malaysian politician and was a former member of the Parliament of Malaysia for the Kota Bharu constituency in Kelantan from 2008 to 2013 representing the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) in the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) opposition coalition. Datuk Wira Hajah Mas Ermieyati binti Samsudin is a Malaysian politician who has served as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of Parliament and Law in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Minister Wan Junaidi since August 2021. She served as the Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development And Cooperatives in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and former Minister Wan Junaidi from March 2020 to August 2021 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Masjid Tanah since May 2013. She served as the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Culture in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Najib Razak and former Minister Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz from July 2015 to the collapse of the BN administration in May 2018 and Women Youth Chief of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) from October 2013 to June 2018.
Dato’ Seri Dr. Awang Adek bin Hussin is a Malaysian politician and diplomat. He is the former Malaysian Ambassador to the United States. He was the Member of the Parliament of Malaysia for the Bachok constituency in Kelantan for one term from 2004 to 2008. Datuk Dr. Awang Adek bin Hussin is no longer an active politician he once was. He had relinquished all his party positions after the General Election in 2018. He remains active as an ordinary party member and is no longer active in party politics. Since 2018, his involvements focused mainly on corporate activities and has been chairmen on a few boards.

She was a Member of the Federal House of Representatives from the People's Democratic Party (PDP), representing Yala/Ogoja Federal Constituency in Nigeria's 7th National Assembly. The 2020–2022 Malaysian political crisis was a political crisis in Malaysia. It was caused by several members of the 14th parliament (MPs) changing party support, leading to the loss of a parliamentary majority, the collapse of two successive coalition governments, and the resignation of two Prime Ministers in less than 18 months. The crisis led to a 2022 snap general election and eventual formation of a national unity government.
The National Alliance is a political coalition composed of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party, Malaysian Islamic Party and Malaysian People's Movement Party. This coalition was preceded by the Malaysian Party Alliance Association, also known as the Persatuan Perikatan Parti Malaysia (PPPM).

Ahmad Jazlan bin Yaakub (Jawi أحمد جزلان يعقوب; is a Malaysian politician who served as the Member of Parliament for Machang from May 2013 to November 2022. He served as the Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development in the Barisan Nasional administration under former Prime Minister Najib Razak and former Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob from May 2013 to the collapse of the BN administration in May 2018, Chairman of Malaysian Palm Oil Board from April 2020 to his resignation in January 2021 and Chairman of the National Kenaf and Tobacco Board from February 2015 to October 2015. He is a member, State Chairman of Kelantan and Division Chairman of Machang of the United Malays National Organisation, a component party of the ruling BN coalition which is aligned with another ruling PN coalition. However, on 9 January 2021, he personally and publicly announced his withdrawal of support and he was no longer aligned with PN as an MP although his coalition is, resulting in a hung parliament as the PN coalition led by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin lost the majority support by commanding the support of only half of 220 MPs in the Dewan Rakyat, Parliament. His withdrawal of support was the second one from his coalition after the withdrawal of support of Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.
