The Quds Governorate, also Jerusalem Governorate, is one of the 16 governorates of Palestine and located in the central part of the West Bank. The current governor, appointed by the Palestinian National Authority, is Adnan Ghaith since 2018, who succeeded to Adnan al-Husayni, appointed in 2008. The Governorate has two sub-districts: Jerusalem J1, which includes the localities within the territory controlled by the Israeli Jerusalem municipality, and Jerusalem J2, which includes the remaining parts of the Jerusalem Governorate. The district capital of the Governorate is East Jerusalem (al-Quds).
The West Bank Premier League is one of the two top divisions of the Palestinian Football Association (PFA). The other is the Gaza Strip Premier League. Palestinian clubs have a rich history stretching back to the early 1930s, but most teams folded due to the political turmoil, and ensuing reduction of the geographical area of the country. Over the years, the format of the league has taken many different shapes. The league has been held uninterrupted since 2008.
Beit Safafa is a Palestinian town along the Green Line, with the vast majority of its territory in East Jerusalem and some northern parts in West Jerusalem.
Beit Ummar is a Palestinian town located eleven kilometers northwest of Hebron in the Hebron Governorate of the State of Palestine. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, in 2017, the town had a population of 16,977 inhabitants. Over 4,800 residents of the town are under the age of 18. Since the Second Intifada, unemployment ranges between 60 and 80 percent due mostly to the inability of residents to work in Israel and a depression in the Palestinian economy. A part of the city straddles Road 60 and due to this, several propositions of house demolition have occurred.
Givat HaMatos is a planned Israeli settlement in East Jerusalem. It encompasses an area of 170 dunams. It is bordered by Talpiot in the north, Gilo in the south, and Beit Safafa in the west. Israel has approved plans to build a new Israeli settlement there.
The format for the 2009–10 season saw the number of Premier League clubs reduced from 22 to 12 with each team playing each other twice. The 2009 season marked the last season before the league adopted a professional setup. Jabal Al-Mukaber won the 2009-10 Premier League while Wadi Al-Nes won the Palestine Cup with Beit Ummar and Shabab Al-Khader relegate to the first division.
The 2012–13 West Bank Premier League was the 10th season of the top division in the West Bank, Palestine, and the 5th since the league became a yearly competition in 2008. It started on 31 August 2012 and finished on 4 May 2013. The defending champions are Hilal Al-Quds, who won their first title the season before.
West Bank First League is the second tier of the Palestinian Football Association (PFA). It began in 1985 and Shabab Al-Dhahiriya SC won the championship. In 2008 the league had 4 groups, all the groups had 10 clubs, and there were 3 stages.
The 2015–16 West Bank Premier League is the 13th season of the top-flight football league in Palestine. Shabab Al-Dhahiriya are the defending having won their second championship last season.

The 2023–24 Palestine Cup is the top knockout tournament for association football clubs in the State of Palestine. The championship returns after an absence of three years. The tournament was supposed to take place in May, but it was postponed at the request of the clubs. The PFA decided to postpone it to July before the start of the new season in September. Shabab Rafah is the defending champion.
