Kevin Harvick's Kern Raceway is a 0.5-mile (0.80 km) oval speedway located on CA 43 just off Interstate 5 in Bakersfield, Kern County, California, United States. Opened in 2013, it was built as a replacement for Mesa Marin Raceway.
David Wayne Mayhew is an American professional stock car racing driver. He last competed part-time in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, driving the No. 17 Chevrolet SS for Golden Gate Racing.
The 2017 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West was the sixty-fourth season of the K&N Pro Series West, a regional stock car racing series sanctioned by NASCAR. It began with the NAPA Auto Parts Tucson 150 at Tucson Speedway on March 18 and concluded with the West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame Championship 150 presented by NAPA Auto Parts at Kern County Raceway Park on November 4. Todd Gilliland was the defending drivers' champion and he won the championship again in 2017, becoming the first back-to-back champion in the West Series since Mike Duncan in 2004 and 2005.
The 2018 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West was the sixty-fifth season of the K&N Pro Series West, a regional stock car racing series sanctioned by NASCAR. It began with the Bakersfield 175 presented by NAPA Auto Parts at Kern County Raceway Park on March 15 and concluded with the NAPA Auto Parts 175 presented by West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame at Kern County Raceway Park on October 27. Todd Gilliland entered the season as the defending Drivers' champion; however, he did not go for three in a row, because he moved up to the Truck Series in 2018. Derek Thorn, the 2013 West Series champion, won his second championship in his first full season since his first title, 27 points in front of his Sunrise Ford Racing teammate Ryan Partridge, who also returned to the series in 2018 after a year off in 2017.
Derek Kenneth Kraus is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes part-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 16 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Kaulig Racing. He has also previously competed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, ARCA Menards Series and ARCA Menards Series East and West. The race was held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Kevin Harvick's Kern Raceway in Bakersfield, California, a 0.50 mile (0.80 km) permanent asphalt quad-oval shaped short track. The race took the scheduled 150 laps to complete. In a wild finish, Kole Raz, driving for Jerry Pitts Racing, would take the win after a hard-fought battle between Trevor Huddleston in the final few laps of the race. This was Raz's first career ARCA Menards Series West win. Pole-sitter Tyler Reif dominated the majority of the race, leading a race-high 104 laps, before falling back to finish 3rd. Huddleston passed Reif for the lead with under 50 laps to go, and led 43 laps before finishing 2nd in a wild finish with Raz.

The race took the scheduled 150 laps to complete. Sean Hingorani, driving for Venturini Motorsports, would overcome from a late-race penalty, and took the lead from the dominating Landen Lewis, leading the final 39 laps to earn his second career ARCA Menards Series West win, and his second consecutive win. Pole-sitter Landen Lewis dominated nearly the entire race, leading a race-high 111 laps before being passed by Hingorani and finishing 2nd. To fill out the podium, Trevor Huddleston, driving for High Point Racing, would finish in 3rd, respectively.

The race was held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Kevin Harvick's Kern Raceway in Bakersfield, California, a 0.50 mile permanent quad-oval shaped racetrack. The race took the scheduled 150 laps to complete. In a action-packed race, Sean Hingorani, driving for Venturini Motorsports, would lead flag-to-flag, leading every lap of the race from the pole to earn his seventh career ARCA Menards Series West win and his second of the season. To fill out the podium, Brent Crews, driving for Venturini Motorsports, and Trevor Huddleston, driving for High Point Racing, would finish 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
