Kole Raz (born March 13, 2003) is an American professional stock car racing driver who competes part-time in the ARCA Menards Series West, driving the No. 5 Toyota for Jerry Pitts Racing.

Racing career

Raz has previously competed in series such as the Northwest Super Late Model Series, the Budweiser Crown Series, the ASA Southern Super Series, and the SRL Spears Southwest Tour Series. He found a majority of his success in the latter series, where he finishing fifth in the points in 2021 with seven top-ten finishes. [1]

In 2023, Raz made his debut in the ARCA Menards Series West at Shasta Speedway, driving the No. 5 Toyota for Jerry Pitts Racing. After placing tenth in the lone practice session, [2] he qualified in fifth and finished in third behind Trevor Huddleston and Sean Hingorani. [3] [4] It was later revealed that Raz would run the following race at Evergreen Speedway with JPR. [5] After placing third in the lone practice session, [6] he qualified in fourth and once again finished in third, this time behind Tyler Reif and Sean Hingorani. [7] [8]

In 2024, it was revealed that he will return with JPR at Kevin Harvick's Kern Raceway, once again driving the No. 5 Toyota for JPR. [9] [10] He would go on to pick up his first win in the series in this race.

Personal life

Raz is the younger brother of Gracin Raz, who has also competed in the West Series, then known as the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, from 2014 to 2017. [5]

The 2024 MMI Oil Workers 150 presented by the West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame was the 2nd stock car race of the 2024 ARCA Menards Series West season, and the 8th running of the event. The race was held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Kevin Harvick's Kern Raceway in Bakersfield, California, a 0.50 mile (0.80 km) permanent asphalt quad-oval shaped short track. The race took the scheduled 150 laps to complete. In a wild finish, Kole Raz, driving for Jerry Pitts Racing, would take the win after a hard-fought battle between Trevor Huddleston in the final few laps of the race. This was Raz's first career ARCA Menards Series West win. Pole-sitter Tyler Reif dominated the majority of the race, leading a race-high 104 laps, before falling back to finish 3rd. Huddleston passed Reif for the lead with under 50 laps to go, and led 43 laps before finishing 2nd in a wild finish with Raz.
