Weststar Aviation Services Sdn Bhd (doing business as Weststar Aviation Services) is a Malaysian non-scheduled airline company with its main base in Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport. It is a subsidiary of Weststar Group.

History

It was established in April 2003 upon the approval of the Air Operation Certificate (AOC) by the Malaysian Department of Civil Aviation (DCA). Its primary fleet consists of Airbus Helicopters EC 120 Colibri, EC 135 Ecureuil, AS365 Dauphin and Leonardo AW139. In 2018 they acquired 3 Leonardo AW189 that transports mostly Petronas and Shell personals in Miri, Sarawak. Weststar offered Petronas to operate the AW189's at a cost similar to operating an AW139 and is currently the cheapest operator of AW189's in the region.

A European subsidiary called Weststar NDD has been founded in 2018 in Italy. A joint venture founded by Namibian Westair Aviation and French Avico Group took the lead of Weststar NDD airline in 2023 and renamed it Westair Helicopters. [1]

CHC Helikopter Service, previously CHC Norway, CHC Helikopter Service and Helikopter Service is the Norwegian division of CHC Helicopter Corporation. The airline was an independent company until 1999. It operates primarily to oil platforms on the Norwegian continental shelf in the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea, with crew change, infield shuttle and search and rescue operations. The AgustaWestland AW139, now known as the Leonardo AW139, is a 15-seat medium-sized twin-engined helicopter developed and produced by the Italian helicopter manufacturer AgustaWestland, now part of Leonardo. It is marketed at several different roles, including VIP/corporate transport, military use, offshore transport, firefighting, law enforcement, search and rescue, emergency medical service, disaster relief, and maritime patrol.

The Airbus Helicopters H155 is a long-range medium-lift passenger transport helicopter developed by Eurocopter from its Dauphin family for civil aviation use. It is a twin-engined aircraft and can carry up to 13 passengers along with 1 or 2 crew, depending on customer configuration. The helicopter is marketed for passenger transport, offshore support, VIP corporate transport and casualty transport duties. In 2015, the EC155 was formally renamed to the H155, in line with Eurocopter's corporate rebranding as Airbus Helicopters. It was succeeded in the product line by the Airbus Helicopters H160.
