Production

Development

The series was officially announced on November 21, 2023. [6] [7]

On January 15, 2024, it was reported that Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino tested positive for COVID-19 and the filming was suspended since they are self-quarantined. [8]

Marketing

On February 15, 2024, Viu Philippines released on their social media accounts still cuts of the series. [9]

A teaser was released on February 19, 2024 in their streaming app. [10] On February 26, 2024 official trailer was released revealing its showing date beginning March 18, 2024. [11] A second trailer was released revealing the cast on March 7, 2024.

On March 1, 2024, the official poster designed by Justin Besana was revealed. [12]

A media conference was held on March 9, 2024 at Gateway Mall. It was attended by its lead actors, Kim and Paulo, its cast members, director Chad Vidanes, team from Dreamscape Entertainment, Viu Philippines and brand partners such as Choco Mucho and Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH). According to HMPH President, Mr. Dongwook Lee, Hyundai cars will be featured in the show as the two lead actors are also their latest ambassadors. [13]

On April 5, 2024, Star Music released the show's official soundtrack with nine songs performed by different artists including cast members Angeline Quinto, Kaori Oinuma and Kim Won Shik, as well as P-pop groups BINI and BGYO. [14]

Release

The series premiered on Viu on March 18, 2024 with the first 3 episodes for free users and two more advance episodes for premium users. The series is also available to viewers in the US and Canada through iWantTFC. [15]

An advance watch party for Kim-Pau fans and selected viewers was held on March 16, 2024 at Novotel Hotel in Quezon City. [16]

On its second week, it was announced that episodes will be released three times weekly, from Monday to Wednesday, one episode per day.

Reception

After its premiere it became the top one most watched series in streaming platform Viu. As a result, Viu became the top application in Apple App Store. [17]

Linlang is a Philippine thriller drama television series directed by FM Reyes and Jojo Saguin. It stars Kim Chiu, Paulo Avelino and JM de Guzman, with Maricel Soriano, Kaila Estrada and Ruby Ruiz in their supporting roles. It is the revival show of the original Linlang series that ran on GMA Network from July 24 to September 22, 2006. The series was produced by Dreamscape Entertainment and premiered on Amazon Prime Video on October 5, 2023, consisting of 14 episodes. The teleserye version produced by ABS-CBN Studios premiered on Kapamilya Channel's Primetime Bida evening block, other broadcast syndication and worldwide via TFC on January 22, 2024, replacing Senior High on Can't Buy Me Love's timeslot.
