Cambridge is a city in Dorchester County, Maryland, United States. The population was 12,326 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Dorchester County and the county's largest municipality. Cambridge is the fourth most populous city in Maryland's Eastern Shore region, after Salisbury, Elkton and Easton.

Maryland Route 577 (MD 577) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. Known as Reliance Road, the state highway runs 3.70 miles (5.95 km) from MD 392 at Reliance north to MD 313 near Federalsburg. MD 577 follows the Dorchester–Caroline county line for its entire length. The state highway is considered to be in Caroline County for maintenance purposes. The first section of MD 577 was paved near its northern terminus by 1910 and reconstructed as a state highway in 1935. The highway was completed south to Reliance in 1942.

The Sussex Society of Archeology and History extensively excavated this site between 1951 and 1953. They identified grooved axes and stemmed points indicating use by Archaic peoples. It was possibly the site of a village during the Late Woodland period.
Brinsfield I Site, or Brinsfield I Prehistoric Village Site, is an archaeological site near Cambridge in Dorchester County, Maryland. The site was first identified in 1955 by Perry S. Flegel of the Sussex Society of Archaeology & History. It is a late prehistoric archaeological site characterized by shell-tempered pottery and triangular projectile points. The site may provide evidence of prehistoric life on the eastern shore of Maryland during the Late Woodland period, c. 900–1500.

Dorchester County Courthouse and Jail is a historic courthouse building located at Cambridge, the county seat of Dorchester County, Maryland. It is an Italianate influenced, painted brick structure, which was enlarged and extensively remodeled with Georgian Revival decorative detailing in the 1930s. The building entrance is flanked on the north by a three-story tower. It was constructed in 1853, and is the only courthouse designed by Richard Upjohn in Maryland.

Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Historical Park is a 480-acre (190 ha) National Park Service unit in the U.S. state of Maryland. It commemorates the life of former slave Harriet Tubman, who became an activist in the Underground Railroad prior to the American Civil War. The Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Monument was created by President Barack Obama under the Antiquities Act on March 25, 2013. The portion of the monument administered by the National Park Service was later designated a National Historical Park in 2014, and the remainder is managed by the Fish and Wildlife Service as part of Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge.
