In June 2008, their total registered population was 1086 people, of which their on-reserve population was 311.
Longcanoe Lake is a narrow lake in Thunder Bay District, Ontario, Canada about 15 kilometres (9 mi) north-east of the community of Rossport and 11 kilometres (7 mi) north of Highway 17. It is oriented in a north-south direction and is about 1,100 metres (3,609 ft) long and 250 metres (820 ft) at its widest, at its north end. The lake is part of the Whitesand River system and flows out at its south end via this river into Hornblende Lake, and eventually via the Hewitson River into Lake Superior. A mine access road travels along the eastern shore of the lake.

Selassie Lake is a lake in Thunder Bay District, Ontario, Canada, and the source of the Whitesand River which flows into Lake Nipigon. It is about 1,500 metres (4,921 ft) long and 250 metres (820 ft) wide and is at an elevation of 334 metres (1,096 ft). Selassie Lake is adjacent to Haile Lake, which also flows into Lake Nipigon, but via the Pikitigushi River system. The names of the two lakes are a reference to Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia.

It is 1.7 kilometres (1.1 mi) long and .7 kilometres (0.4 mi) wide and lies at an elevation of 332 metres (1,089 ft) about 18.5 kilometres (11.5 mi) northeast of the community of Armstrong. The primary outflow is an unnamed creek that joins the Whitesand River at a point between the mouth of Blackett Creek upstream and Whitesand Lake downstream.

It is about 2.2 kilometres (1.4 mi) long and 1.9 kilometres (1.2 mi) wide, and lies at an elevation of 293 metres (961 ft). The primary inflow is an unnamed creek from Camel Read Lake, and primary outflow is an unnamed creek to Wabinosh Bay on Lake Nipigon which flows via the Nipigon River into Lake Superior.
