William Henry Murphy III (born August 2, 1973) is an American gospel recording artist and pastor. He started his music career in 2005, with the release of All Day on Epic Records. This album was listed on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. His second album, The Sound, was released in 2007 on Central South, and was listed on the Top Gospel Albums chart as well. He self-released We Are One in 2011. This album was listed on the Top Gospel Albums chart, along with the Heatseekers Albums chart. His fourth album, God Chaser, was released in 2013 on Verity. The album reached the Gospel Albums chart, as well as the Billboard 200. Murphy is pastor of the dReam Center Church of Atlanta, which he founded.

Early life

Murphy was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 2, 1973. [1] [2] His father and grandfather are pastors/bishops. [3] He moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2001, with his wife Danielle and two children, to serve as the worship minister at New Birth. [3] He later founded The dReam Center Church of Atlanta in 2006, where Tasha Cobbs was on pastoral staff. [3] His wife, Danielle, is also a pastor at the church. [3] William is the Bishop of Worship in the FGBCF International ministry (Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship) under cofounder Bishop Paul S. Morton.

Music career

Murphy's music career began with the release of All Day on August 16, 2005, on Epic Records. [4] This peaked at No. 22 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart. [5]

His second album, The Sound, was released by Central South Records on May 1, 2007, [6] peaking at No. 23 on the same chart. [5]

His third album, We Are One, was self-released on July 26, 2011, [7] and it peaked at No. 16. It also placed on the Heatseekers Albums at No. 28. [5]

His fourth album, God Chaser, was released on February 5, 2013, by Verity Records. [8] It reached No. 90 on the Billboard 200, and placed at No. 3 on the Gospel Albums chart. [5]

Andy Kellman, writing for AllMusic, said that some of the tracks on this album are "potent numbers", [8] while Cross Rhythms rated the album a seven out of ten. [9]

God Chaser was nominated for Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.

In September 2000, the group started with a performance at Stewart's fathers church in Los Angeles that's Greater Emmanuel Temple Church. The first album came out in 2005, with GospoCentric and My Block Records, The Soul Seekers, and this would chart on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. Their follow-up album released in 2010, Soul Seekers II, which charted on the aforementioned chart, along with the Heatseekers Albums chart.

Joseph W. Pace II is an American gospel musician. He started his music career, in 1996, with Colorado Mass Choir. Milbert E.S. McKenzie, who goes by the stage name Doc McKenzie, is an American gospel musician. He started his music career, in 1990, with six album releases, that was released by Atlanta International Records, Savoy Records, and Meltone Records. Milbert released three albums of note, Ride with Jesus in 1996 with First Lite Records, 1998's Live again with First Lite, and 2009's Renewed with Ophir Records, which all of these albums charted on the Billboard magazine charts, exclusively on the Gospel Albums chart.

The subsequent album, Live in Atlanta, was released in 2013 by Central South Records. This was a Billboard magazine breakthrough release on the Gospel Albums chart and Heatseekers Albums chart. She was nominated at the 2009 Stellar Awards in two categories.

Pastor Alvin A. Darling is an American gospel musician. He started his music career, in 1990, with the release of two albums by Savoy Records, I've Learned to Put My Trust in God and Expect a Miracle. His next album was released by I Am Records in 1992, Medley of Praise, and an album was released with GGI Records in 1994, Hold On...To The Promise. His next two albums, 1995's There's an Answer in Prayer and 1998's Blessing Coming Through for You, was released by Savoy Records. The next four albums, 2005's You Deserve My Worship, 2007's My Blessing Is on the Way, 2009's You Can Make It, and Waiting Right Here, was released by Emtro Gospel Records. He would get five of these album to chart upon the Billboard Gospel Albums chart, and two of them got placements on the Heatseekers Albums chart. His is a GMA Dove Awards and Stellar Awards nominated artist.
