William Perkins (born 8 October 1986) is a West Indian cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman who occasionally plays as wicketkeeper.
Perkins first came to prominence playing for the West Indies in the 2006 Under-19 Cricket World Cup,where he scored 133 from 150 balls in a victory against the United States,an innings that won him the man of the match award. [1] His performances in the tournament earned him a Twenty20 debut for Trinidad and Tobago in the Stanford 20/20 tournament. In his first match,he scored 53 from 28 balls in an eight-wicket win. [2] He subsequently made his first-class debut in January 2007. [3]
Continued domestic success in Twenty20 cricket –in his first nine games,he averaged more than 40 at a strike rate of over 125 [4] –earned him a place in the West Indies team for a Twenty20 International against Australia. Opening the innings in a match shortened to eleven overs per side,he scored 9 in a seven-wicket victory. [5]
Having helped Trinidad and Tobago to victory in the Stanford 20/20,scoring an unbeaten half-century in the final, [6] Perkins was included in the initial squad for the team to face England in the Stanford Super Series for a collective prize of $20 million and attended a training camp,but did not make the final squad. Brian Charles Lara,is a Trinidadian former international cricketer,widely acknowledged as one of the greatest batsmen of all time. He holds several cricketing records,including the record for the highest individual score in first-class cricket,with 501 not out for Warwickshire against Durham at Edgbaston in 1994,and the record for the highest individual score in an international Test innings,after scoring 400 not out at Antigua during the 4th test against England in 2004.

The 2005–06 West Indian cricket season includes all domestic cricket matches played by senior teams with first-class status in the West Indies between October 2005 and March 2006,and also the international feats of the West Indies team,who is not scheduled to play any home games during this period but are to play home matches during April,May and June 2006. The season began on 2005-10-03 with the first matches of the one-day KFC Cup and is scheduled to last until 2006-03-19 when England A depart after their tour which will include one-day and first-class matches against the West Indies A team. The West Indies will not play any home Tests during their home season,but they have toured Australia,and toured New Zealand in February and March,immediately after the conclusion of the 2005-06 Carib Beer Cup,the first-class competition.
Kieron Adrian Pollard is a former Trinidadian cricketer,who captained the West Indies cricket team in limited overs cricket. He currently plays in various T20 leagues around the globe as an all-rounder. He also captains MI Emirates and MI New York in the ILT20 and MLC respectively. He is currently serving as the batting coach of the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.He is also the assistant coach of the England cricket team for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. He was part of the 2012 ICC World T20 winning team for West Indies. During his period,he was one of the most aggressive batsman and he also has the record of six 6s in an over against Sri Lanka.
Andre Fletcher is a Grenadian cricketer who plays internationally for the West Indies. He is a right-handed batsman and often keeps wicket. He played domestic cricket for Windward Islands and Grenada. He was one of the few international cricketers to have come from Grenada. Fletcher was a member of the West Indies team that won the 2016 T20 World Cup.

In November 2023,he announced his retirement from international cricket.

A left-handed batsman,his batting style has drawn comparisons with Brian Lara. Bravo is the younger half brother of fellow West Indies cricketer Dwayne Bravo and his mother is the first cousin of former cricketer Brian Lara. Bravo was a member of the West Indies team that won the 2012 T20 World Cup.

The ICC Men's T20 World Cup was first held in 2007. It was first decided that every two years an ICC T20 World Cup tournament is to take place,except in the event of an ICC Cricket World Cup being scheduled in the same year,in which case it will be held the year before. The first tournament was in 2007 in South Africa where India defeated Pakistan in the final. Two Associate teams had played in the first tournament,selected through the 2007 ICC World Cricket League Division One,a 50-over competition. In December 2007 it was decided to hold a qualifying tournament with a 20-over format to better prepare the teams. With six participants,two would qualify for the 2009 World Twenty20 and would each receive $250,000 in prize money. The second tournament was won by Pakistan who beat Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in England on 21 June 2009. The 2010 ICC World Twenty20 tournament was held in West Indies in May 2010,where England defeated Australia by 7 wickets. The 2012 ICC World Twenty20 was won by the West-Indies,by defeating Sri Lanka at the finals. For the first time,a host nation competed in the final of the ICC World Twenty20. There were 12 participants for the title including Ireland and Afghanistan as 2012 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier. It was the first time the World Twenty20 tournament took place in an Asian country. Pakistan was the only team to reach the last four in the first four editions of the tournament. 2014 saw the expansion to 16 teams featuring three teams making their debuts. Sri Lanka yet again made it to the Finals this time winning after their two other appearances in previous finals. The ICC Men's T20 World Cup has had five champions from six tournaments.
Nicholas Pooran is a Trinidadian cricketer who currently plays for the West Indies cricket team in limited overs cricket,and he is an occasional captain of the limited overs formats. He also plays for Trinidad and Tobago in West Indian domestic matches and for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL. He made his international debut for the West Indies in September 2016. In May 2022,Pooran was named as the captain of the West Indies team for limited overs cricket. In November 2022,he stepped down as the limited overs captain of the West Indies team.
