The 5th Senate district of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin Senate. Located in southeast Wisconsin, the district is composed of parts of western Milwaukee County, and eastern Waukesha County. It includes the cities of Brookfield and Pewaukee, and the villages of Elm Grove and Pewaukee, as well as most of the cities of Wauwatosa and West Allis, and parts of the cities of Milwaukee and Waukesha.

It includes the cities of Muskego, New Berlin, and most of the city of Waukesha, along with the villages of Big Bend, Mukwonago, and Waterford.

It comprises part of the city of Milwaukee's near-south side, including the Walker's Point Historic District, the Historic Mitchell Street neighborhood, and most of Lincoln Village. The district also contains St. Adalbert's Church, the Basilica of St. Josaphat, and St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, the historic epicenter of Milwaukee's Polish American community. The district is represented by Democrat Sylvia Ortiz-Velez, since January 2021.

The district also contains Waukesha County Technical College, Brookfield Square mall, and Capitol Airport. The district is represented by Republican Dave Maxey, since January 2023.

It includes the city of Delafield and the villages of Dousman, Eagle, North Prairie, Oconomowoc Lake, Palmyra, Sullivan, and Wales. The seat is held by Republican Scott Allen since January 2015.

After the 2024 redistricting, Melotik no longer resides within the new district.

It includes the cities of Delavan and Elkhorn, and the villages of Clinton, Darien, Fontana-on-Geneva Lake, Sharon, and Williams Bay. It also contains Geneva National Golf Club and most of the Alpine Valley Resort. The district is represented by Republican Ellen Schutt, since January 2023.

The district is represented by Democrat Jenna Jacobson, since January 2023.

Located in east-central Wisconsin, the district comprises most of Winnebago County and part of southern Outagamie County. It includes all of the city of Omro and the village of Winneconne, the portion of Fox Crossing west of the Fox River, and the southern quarter of the city of Oshkosh. The district is represented by Republican Nate Gustafson, since January 2023.

Located in northwestern Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Polk County and most of Burnett County. It includes the cities of Amery and St. Croix Falls and the villages of Balsam Lake, Centuria, Clayton, Clear Lake, Dresser, Frederic, Grantsburg, Luck, Milltown, Osceola, Siren, and Webster, and part of the village of Turtle Lake. The district also contains the St. Croix Chippewa reservation, the Wisconsin portion of Interstate Park, and a significant portion of the Wisconsin side of the Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway. The district is represented by Republican David Armstrong, since January 2021. After the 2024 redistricting, Armstrong no longer resides in the new 75th district.

It includes the village of Maple Bluff and downtown and east side areas of the city of Madison, including most of the Madison Isthmus. The district contains landmarks such as the Wisconsin State Capitol, Wisconsin Governor's Mansion, Monona Terrace, Warner Park, Lake View Sanatorium, and part of the campus of Madison Area Technical College. The district is represented by Democrat Francesca Hong, since January 2021. Representative Hong is the first—and, currently, the only—Asian America member of the Wisconsin Legislature.

He is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing Wisconsin's 83rd Assembly district since January 2023. He is also chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin's 1st congressional district and chairman of Wisconsin Young Republicans.
