The World Confederation of Businesses (WORLDCOB) is an American business organization that awards the annual Bizz Awards and other certifications. It is the awarding body of the Bizz Awards, founded in 2005 with an annual awards ceremony hosted in three different cities each year, one for Europe, one for Americas, and the one for the region of Asia, Middle East and Africa.[1]
Worldcob's Bizz Award has been criticized several times with the accusation that it is simply a vanity award.[2][3][4] The general accusations are that Worldcob randomly contacts many small and medium enterprises telling them that they've been nominated and that, for a fee the company will be given the Bizz Award.[5][6][7]
History
The company was founded on September 9, 2004, in the city of Houston, Texas by Jesus Moran under the name of MPBM. Co. Authorization was requested for the use of the name World Confederation of Businesses as the Trade name of MPBM Co.[8]

Worldcob is the awarding body of the Bizz Awards, founded in 2005.[1] The award takes place in three different cities each year, one for the Europe, one for Americas, and the one for the region of Asia, Middle East and Africa.[12][13] Until 2006, the award ceremony was accompanied by a business fair, where organization members presented their businesses. The fair was called the ExpoBizz business forum.
Since 2011 the organization has also been the certifying body for the Worldcob certification in corporate social responsibility (WORLDCOB-CSR).[22] The certification lasts for a single year, and is determined after an audit of corporate documents by the organization.[23] The organization states that it has over 3000 members in over 130 countries.[22] The organization also launched a business-to-business online platform in 2009, where members contact each other and conduct various business transactions.[24][25][26] The congress also holds the CSR Workshop Tour.[27]
The organization has developed WORLDCOB-CSR.2011.03 Standard Certification, an International Standard which is validated by the British Standard Institute.[28][29][30]
