The World United Hockey League (WUHL) was a junior ice hockey league. The WUHL were members of the United Hockey Union (UHU), an affiliate of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU).
Formed in November 2014, the WUHL was formed by four teams who were previously members of the Canadian International Hockey League (CIHL). On November 10, 2014 the CIHL decided to leave the UHU and became an independent league. [1] [2] The four teams decided to separate and stay under the UHU umbrella, forming the new league.
On November 15, 2014, the Milton Battle Arts Cobras won the first-ever WUHL game, 7-4 [3] against Toronto Junior Hockey Academy. Defensemen Brody Heleno of Missassauga, Ontario scored the historic opening goal just 42-seconds into the game. Heleno recently committed to play college hockey at Salem State University in the Fall of 2015. [4]
After playing nine league games, Collingwood Ice owner Tim Dickieson folded the team. The Ice won five of eight games, but Dickieson alleged a lack of local support ended the team. [5] [6]
All four teams competed in the 2015 WUHL Playoffs. Regular season winner St. Charles easily swept their best-of-three semifinals series over Colborne (9-3, 12-2) while Milton had a much tougher series win over Toronto Hockey Academy (6-5, 1-0). The league finals were a best-of-five series with the North Stars defeating Milton in three straight games (5-2, 8-5, 5-1). [7]
Two expansion teams were announced in July 2015: Acton Rhinos and Mississauga Red Dogs. However, by early September, the Red Dogs had removed their website and appears to have folded sometime after holding a training camp on August 26, 2015, due to lack of league transparency. On September 14, 2015, the WUHL announced another expansion team called the Lake of Bays Snappers based out of Lake of Bays, Ontario. [8] However, since the announcement stating the Snappers would take the ice in October 2015, there had been no updates on any teams or league news by the end of October and the league has appeared to have ceased operations.

The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) is a Junior A ice hockey league in Ontario, Canada. It is under the supervision of the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) and the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL).
In 1970, the Junior A level was divided into two more levels, Tier I and Tier II. In 1974, the "Major Junior A" division of the OHA became the Ontario Major Junior Hockey League (OMJHL) and began to operate independently of the OHA. Finally in 1980, the OMJHL became the Ontario Hockey League.
The Trenton Sting were a Junior "A" ice hockey team from Trenton, Ontario, Canada. They were a part of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
The Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League (GMHL) is a Canadian developmental junior ice hockey league. The league has primarily had teams in the Greater Toronto Area, Central Ontario, Northeastern Ontario, and Quebec.
The Western States Hockey League (WSHL) was a junior ice hockey league established in 1993. It was sanctioned by the United Hockey Union, the junior hockey branch of the Amateur Athletic Union. Previously, it was sanctioned by USA Hockey from 1994 to 2011. Teams played approximately 50 games in the regular season schedule, mimicking what players would experience at the collegiate level. As of January 2022, there are no active teams in the league following the creation of the Can-Am Junior Hockey League by former WSHL teams.
The Major Intermediate A Hockey League was an ice hockey league in Ontario, Canada, sanctioned by the Ontario Hockey Association. It existed from 1978 to 1983. Its champion was eligible to compete for the W.G. Hardy Trophy, emblematic of Canadian Intermediate A hockey supremacy.
The Colborne Cramahe Hawks were a Canadian Junior ice hockey team based in Colborne, Ontario. The Hawks were members of the World United Hockey League.
The El Paso Rhinos are a junior ice hockey organization based in El Paso, Texas. Their home games are played at the County Events Center located within the El Paso County Coliseum complex. The Rhinos are members of the Tier II junior North American Hockey League (NAHL) after adding the team as an expansion franchise in 2021. The organization also has a Tier III team that was originally a member of the Amateur Athletic Union-sanctioned Western States Hockey League from 2006 to 2020 before joining the North American 3 Hockey League for the 2020–21 season.
The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) is an American Tier III junior ice hockey league that consists of teams from Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Sanctioned by USA Hockey, for most of the league's existence, the winner of the NA3HL playoffs would advance to play for the Tier III National Championship, however, this has not been held since 2015.

The Toronto Furies were a professional women's ice hockey team that played in Toronto, Ontario, as members of the Canadian Women's Hockey League. The Toronto Furies played their home games at the Mastercard Centre in Toronto. The team was established in 2010 as an expansion team called Toronto CWHL during a league-wide restructuring. The team adopted the name "Furies" after the 2011 Clarkson Cup.
