Wu Shaobin (born 4 February 1969) is a Singaporean chess Grandmaster. He won the national Singaporean Chess Championship in 2003 and 2005. He is married to former Women's World Chess Champion Xie Jun. [2]
In 1998,Wu Shaobin became China's 8th Grandmaster. He played for China in the 1994 Chess Olympiad and for Singapore in the 2000,2002 and 2004 Chess Olympiads. [3] He gained the title of FIDE Trainer in 2005.
He has played for Shandong chess club in the China Chess League (CCL). [4]
Xie Jun is a Chinese chess grandmaster and is the first Asian woman to become a chess grandmaster. She had two separate reigns as Women's World Chess Champion,from 1991 to 1996 and again from 1999 to 2001. Xie is one of three women to have at least two separate reigns,besides Elisaveta Bykova and Hou Yifan. Xie Jun is the current president of the Chinese Chess Association. In 2019,she was inducted into the World Chess Hall of Fame.
Ye Jiangchuan is a Chinese chess grandmaster. He is the second Chinese player,after Ye Rongguang,to achieve the title of Grandmaster,which FIDE awarded him in 1993. On 1 January 2000,he became the first ever Chinese player to cross the 2600 elo rating mark.
Zhu Chen is a Chinese-born Qatari chess Grandmaster. In 1999,she became China's second women's world chess champion after Xie Jun,and China's 13th Grandmaster. In 2006,she obtained Qatari citizenship and since then has played for Qatar.

Eugenio "Eugene" Torre is a Filipino chess grandmaster. In 1974,at 22 years old,he became the first Filipino and non-Soviet Asian to qualify for the title Grandmaster. Torre did this by winning the silver medal in the 21st Chess Olympiad in Nice,France. He is considered the strongest chess player the Philippines produced during the 1980s and 1990s,and played for the Philippines on board 1 in seventeen Chess Olympiads. In 2021,Torre was inducted into the World Chess Hall of Fame.
Buenaventura "Bong" Mendieta Villamayor is a Filipino chess player. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 2000,becoming the fourth from the Philippines to achieve this feat.
