Sanda (sport) Chinese self-defense system and combat sport

Sanda, formerly Sanshou, also known as Chinese boxing or Chinese kickboxing, is the official Chinese full contact combat sport. Wushu (sport) A type of Chinese martial arts

Wushu, or Chinese Kungfu, is a hard and soft and complete martial art, as well as a full-contact sport. It has a long history in reference to Chinese martial arts. It was developed in 1949 in an effort to standardize the practice of traditional Chinese martial arts, yet attempts to structure the various decentralized martial arts traditions date back earlier, when the Central Guoshu Institute was established at Nanking in 1928.

The World Wushu Championships (WWC) is an international sports championship hosted by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) for the sports of wushu taolu and sanda (sanshou). It has been held biennially since 1991 and is the pinnacle event of the IWUF. The World Wushu Championships also coincides with the IWUF Congress as well as with various committee meetings.

2011 World Wushu Championships 11th edition of the World Wushu Championships

The 2011 World Wushu Championships was the 11th edition of the World Wushu Championships. It was held at the Ankara Arena in Ankara, Turkey from October 9 to October 14, 2011. This competition was also the qualifier for the 2013 World Combat Games and the 2013 World Games.

Muslim Salikhov

Muslim Salikhov, a Russian mixed martial artist and Sanda fighter and currently competes in welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). A multiple time Wushu Sanda world champion, Salikhov occupies a place alongside Hossein Ojaghi as one of only two non-Chinese athletes to have won the Wushu Sanda King's Cup. As of June 8, 2021, he is #15 in the UFC welterweight rankings.

Dennis To Yu-hang is a Hong Kong martial artist and actor. He started his career as a wushu practitioner and won several awards at various competitions, including a silver medal at the 2002 Asian Games and a gold medal at the 2005 East Asian Games. He became an actor in 2007 and started by playing minor roles in Ip Man (2008), Bodyguards and Assassins (2009) and Ip Man 2 (2010). He is best known for his role as the Wing Chun grandmaster Ip Man in the 2010 film The Legend Is Born – Ip Man.

2013 World Wushu Championships 12th edition of the World Wushu Championships

The 2013 World Wushu Championships was the 12th edition of the World Wushu Championships. It was held at the Kuala Lumpur Badminton Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from November 1 to November 5, 2013. For the countries in Asia, this was also the qualifier for the 2014 Asian Games.

Lindswell Kwok Indonesian taijiquan practitioner

Lindswell, also known as Lindswell Kwok is a former Indonesian taijiquan athlete. She is one of the most renowned wushu taolu athletes of all time. In 2013, she was named Best Athlete by the Indonesian Olympic Committee, and received the Dharma Sports Medal, the highest sports award in Indonesia. For her achievements, Indonesian media dubbed her as the "queen of wushu".

Wushu, for the 2013 Bolivarian Games, took place from 17 November to 19 November 2013. The venue used for this sport was the Nuestra Señora del Rosario Colesium in Chiclayo.

Ng Shin Yii was a Malaysian wushu athlete. She retired at age 27 from international wushu after competing at the World Taijiquan Championships in Poland. She competed in the Taijiquan and Taijijian taolu events. Up until her retirement in 2016, she had represented Malaysia in every World Wushu Championships since 2009, winning one silver and one bronze in the 2009 and 2015 Championships respectively. She competed in the first two World Taijiquan Championships in Dujiangyan and Warsaw achieving three silver medals. At the age of 17, she won a bronze medal at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar.

2017 World Wushu Championships 14th edition of the World Wushu Championships

The 2017 World Wushu Championships was the 14th edition of the World Wushu Championships. It was held at the Kazan Gymnastics Center in Kazan, Russia from September 19 to October 3, 2017. For the countries in Asia, this was also the qualification for the 2018 Asian Games.

Hamid Reza Gholipour is an Iranian wushu athlete. He is the five-time Wushu World Champion. Gholipour received a four-year ban after testing positive for the anabolic steroid nandrolone, starting in October 2019, and disqualified from the 15th World Wushu Championships in Shanghai, and the results at the competition forfeited.

2019 World Wushu Championships 15th edition of the World Wushu Championships

The 2019 World Wushu Championships was the 15th edition of the World Wushu Championships. It was held at the Minhang Gymnasium in Shanghai, China from October 20 to October 23, 2019.

The United States of America Wushu Kungfu Federation (USAWKF) is the governing body of wushu-kungfu in the United States. The USAWKF manages and selects the members of the US Wushu Team to compete in various international competitions including the World Wushu Championships, World Junior Wushu Championships, World Kungfu Championships, and the World Taijiquan Championships. The USAWKF also develops regional and national activities relating to Wushu, and has had great influence on how wushu taolu and sanda events are run in the United States. The USAWKF is a member of the Pan-American Wushu Federation (PAWF) and the International Wushu Federation (IWUF).

The wushu competition at the 2013 World Games was held from August 2 to August 3 at the Evangelista Mora Coliseum in Cali, Colombia. This was the second time wushu was featured as an invitational sport at the games, with its first appearance being in 2009.

The 2018 World University Wushu Championships is the 1st World University Wushu Championship organized by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The competition consisted of taolu and sanda events.
