Mohammad Yamin Ahmadzai (born 25 July 1992) is an Afghan cricketer. Ahmadzai is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium-fast. He was born in Laghman Province. [1] He was one of the eleven cricketers to play in Afghanistan's first ever Test match, against India, in June 2018, and took Afghanistan's first wicket in Test cricket.

Career

Ahmadzai made his debut for Afghanistan Under-19s in a Youth One Day International against India Under-19s in the 2010 Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand. He made two further Youth One Day International appearances in that competition, against Hong Kong Under-19s and Papua New Guinea Under-19s. [2] He also played for the Under-19s in the 2011 Under-19 World Cup Qualifier in Ireland, helping Afghanistan to qualify for the main event in 2012. [3]

Later in 2011, he made his Twenty20 debut for the Afghan Cheetahs in the Faysal Bank Twenty-20 Cup against Multan Tigers. He scored an unbeaten single run in the Cheetahs innings, while in the Tigers innings he bowled a single over, conceding 17 runs from it. [4]

He made his Twenty20 International debut for Afghanistan against Oman on 29 November 2015. [5] He made his One Day International debut for Afghanistan against Zimbabwe on 25 December 2015. [6]

He also plays first-class cricket for the Pakistan team Habib Bank Limited in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. [7]

Test cricket

He made his Test debut in Afghanistan's inaugural Test match, played against India, on 14 June 2018. [8] [9] [10] He took Afghanistan's first wicket in Test cricket, dismissing Shikhar Dhawan, just after lunch on day one. [11] In February 2019, he was named in Afghanistan's Test squad for their one-off match against Ireland in India. [12] [13]

He has represented the UAE at One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International level. Mushtaq was born in Pakistan, and before emigrating to the UAE played first-class cricket for Sialkot and represented the Pakistan under-19s.

Ihsanullah is an Afghan cricketer who plays as a right-handed opening batsman. He made his first-class debut for Afghanistan against the Netherlands in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup on 29 July 2016. Prior to his first-class debut, he captained the Afghanistan U-19 team in the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his Test cricket debut in March 2019. Ihsanullah is the younger brother of former Afghanistan captain Nawroz Mangal.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman Zadran is an Afghan cricketer, who plays for the Afghanistan national cricket team. Two months after his international debut, at the age of 16 years and 325 days, he became the youngest player to take a five-wicket haul in a One Day International. He was one of the eleven cricketers to play in Afghanistan's first Test match, against India, in June 2018. Afghanistan lost the one-sided Test within two days. Mujeeb scored 15 and 3 in the two innings, respectively, and got one wicket after conceding 75 runs. It was also Mujeeb's first-class cricket debut. His uncle, Noor Ali Zadran, is also an Afghan international cricketer.

Wafadar Momand is an Afghan cricketer. He was one of the eleven cricketers to play in Afghanistan's first ever Test match, against India, in June 2018.

Ziaur Rahman is an Afghan cricketer. He made his international debut for the Afghanistan cricket team in February 2019.

Shaheen Shah Afridi is a Pakistani international cricketer who is the current captain of the Pakistan national cricket team in the T20I format. He captains the Lahore Qalandars in the PSL. Under his leadership, Lahore Qalandars won their first PSL title in the 2022 season and again went on to win the 2023 season, becoming the first team in PSL history to successfully defend their title. The Zimbabwe cricket team toured the United Arab Emirates to play the Afghanistan cricket team in February 2018 to play two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) and five One Day International (ODI) matches. Initial reports suggested that it would include Afghanistan's first Test match since being awarded Test status by the International Cricket Council in June 2017, but instead the tour consisted of just limited overs matches. An official from Zimbabwe Cricket said that both sides were still in talks to play a Test match, but that would be at some point after the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier.

Waqar Salamkheil is an Afghan cricketer. He made his Test cricket debut for the Afghanistan cricket team in March 2019.

Qais Ahmad Kamawal is an Afghan cricketer. He made his Test debut for the Afghanistan cricket team in September 2019.
