Yekan-e Olya (Persian : يكان عليا‎, also Romanized as Yekān-e ‘Olya and Yekān ‘Olyā; also known as Echan Yukāri, Eshan Bālā, Yakan Olya, Yekān-e Kahrīz-e ‘Olyā, Yekān Kahrīz, Yekān Kahrīz Bālā, Yekān Kahrīz-e Bālā, and Yukhari-Yechan)^[1] is a village in Yekanat Rural District, Yamchi District, Marand County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 1,156, in 303 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Yekanat Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in Yamchi District, Marand County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 4,308, in 1,075 families. The rural district has 11 villages.

Yamchi District is a district (bakhsh) in Marand County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 27,468, in 6,728 families. The District has one city: Yamchi. The District has two rural districts (dehestan): Yekanat Rural District and Zolbin Rural District.
