Yellow Pearl is a Dutch band that started in 2002 and has had several hits. This pop/soul/rock band consists of Emiel Pijnaker (vocals/guitar/drums), Viktor Beekman (guitar), Robert E. James (keyboards), Sander Keuls, (bass guitar).
In 2006, Yellow Pearl recorded the album The Rebel in You with producer Stephen van Haestregt, drummer of the band Within Temptation, during which time their original lead guitarist, Myrddin Hoogenraad left the band temporary. Several guitar players have replace him during this time. Amongst them are Kevin Hunter, Pablo Minoli (of Venezuelan metal band Laberinto) and one of Holland's most talented guitar players Mark Beumers.
The band's biggest hits were "For you and Me" (recorded and produced by Han Nuijten ) and "See You Again". "For you and Me" was an instant radio hit and was put on rotation on several playlists including 3FM. The song was featured on the CD Hitzone 27 which received the golden status in November 2004. "See you Again" was a top 10 hit in the Single Top 100. The band is one of the few acts that has performed twice in a sold out Paradiso (Amsterdam) (Dutch rock temple) within a 6 months period. First they opened for Thin Lizzy in spring 2006 and in November 2006 they had their debut album release concert in Paradiso. The band also performed on the television show Top of the Pops with the song "See you Again" in 2006. In 2006 they also played on Zwarte Cross, one of the biggest Dutch music festivals. They hold the all-time record for most live performances on 3FM, the alternative radio station in the Netherlands, with over 25 appearances in 4 years in 9 different shows. The first was in 2004 when DJ Rob Stenders invited them on to his morning show with their single "For you and Me".
They also played during Serious Request, editions 2006 and 2007. Their song "For you and Me" was included on the compilation CD of Arbeidsvitaminen (Work vitamins), a show by DJ Gerard Ekdom, a popular-music radio show of 3FM, which received a Guinness Book of World Records award for being the longest-lived nationally broadcast radio show in history[ citation needed ]
In 2014, the band's singer, Emiel Pijnaker, wrote music for several movie projects.
During every "Serious Request" Yellow Pearl has been helping 3FM to raise money and awareness to help the Red Cross.
In June 2016 it was announced that Emiel Pijnaker has been working on new music with Alex Al (bass player Michael Jackson) and Pete Merriweather (drummer En Vogue).
In June 2017 the band came out with the summer single "Temptation". It right away became the 5 star track of DJ Gerard Ekdom of Radio 2. From early July until late August 2017, "Temptation" was also featured under the summerpromo for the best watched Dutch television station NPO1 TV, around 6 times per day. On September 4th, 2020 the single "Without Your Love" was released with promotion and airplay in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The song also reached spot 24 on the Radio Gelderland top 100 2020 list. A list of the best songs out of the Dutch province of Gelderland of all time. In the spring of 2021 the single "Stay" was released and it enjoyed airplay on major radio stations in Holland and Belgium. The singer of the band Emiel Pijnaker signed a publishing deal with Bosworth Music /Wise Music in June 2021. On December 2nd 2022, together with the artist Noah Jaora, they released the song "OneLove" on the online music platform Bandcamp to help raise awareness for the campaign OneLove.

Merriweather has won two ARIA Music Awards, Best Urban Release in 2005 for "She's Got Me" and Best Male Artist in 2009 for Love & War.
"Knights of Cydonia" is a song by English alternative rock band Muse and is the closing track on their 2006 album Black Holes and Revelations. Michiel Antonius Adrianus Beelen, better known as Giel Beelen, is a Dutch radio DJ and presenter, working primarily for public broadcaster VARA. Since 2004 Beelen hosted his own breakfast show GIEL! on national radio station 3FM.
Esmée Denters is a Dutch singer and YouTube celebrity. Denters started promoting herself as a musician online in 2006, covering songs by artists including Justin Timberlake and Natasha Bedingfield. By mid-2008 she became one of the first music artists to exceed 100 million views on YouTube. Denters was signed by Timberlake as the first artist to his label Tennman Records. In May 2009, she released her debut studio album, Outta Here, and toured the United States with Timberlake. Emiel Pijnaker is a film producer, composer, singer and entertainment journalist. He is a producer on such upcoming feature films as Van Gogh, New Amsterdam and Shakespeare. Emiel is also the lead singer and founder of the Dutch band Yellow Pearl. They have had several hit singles on the song charts, including 'For You And Me' and ‘See You Again.’ The music video for 'See You Again' appeared on MTV's European television affiliates for 14 weeks. Emiel's song ‘For You and Me’, enjoyed such popularity that it was included on three compilation albums from record labels Sony BMG, EMI and BMG. On TV Gelderland's "Gelderse Top 100" television special, 'For You And Me' was chosen as one of the Top 100 Dutch Songs of All-Time. In June 2016 it was announced that Emiel has been working on new music with Alex Al and Pete Merriweather. In July 2021 he signed a new music publishing deal with Bosworth Music / Wise Music a German music publisher.
Annemieke Schollaardt is a DJ for AVROTROS on popular music channel NPO Radio 2. Until April 2009, Annemieke was heard daily on a radio project called Uruzgan FM. On Saturday and Sunday morning between 10:00 am and 12:00 am she hosted the program Annemieke Hier on NPO 3FM as well as the Saturday evening program Weekend DNA, between 20:00 pm and 22:00 pm. On September 1. 2017, Annemieke moved after 11 years from NPO 3FM to NPO Radio 2. Annemieke can now be heard Friday to Sunday from 2 PM to 4 PM on NPO Radio 2 with Annemiekes A-Lijst.
Kensington is a Dutch rock band from Utrecht that was formed in 2005. The band has since released two EPs and five studio albums: Borders (2010), Vultures (2012), Rivals (2014), Control (2016) and Time (2019). The band consists of vocalist/guitarist Eloi Youssef, guitarist/vocalist Casper Starreveld, bassist Jan Haker and drummer Niles Vandenberg.
Venus & Mars is the first studio album by Dutch pop singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jett Rebel, released by the record label Sony Music Entertainment on April 19, 2014 in the Netherlands. The album is composed of his first two EPs, Venus and Mars.Venus was released on May 26, 2013 and Mars on January 15, 2014. Two new songs have been added to the album, "#" and bonus track "On Top of the World", the bonus track for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. On April 19, 2014, these EPs were combined for one album. It is not considered to be his debut album. The album was produced by Rebel with help from Dutch producer JJJ Sielcken for the first seven tracks. Venus & Mars spawned the singles "Do You Love Me at All", "Louise" and Tonight".
"You're the Best Thing About Me" is a song by Irish rock band U2. It is the third track on their fourteenth studio album, Songs of Experience, and was released as its lead single on 6 September 2017. Musically, "You're the Best Thing About Me" originated from the band's attempt to write a song in the spirit of Motown, combining rhythmic music with a joyful mood. The lyrics were written by lead vocalist Bono as a love song for his wife, Ali, after he had a nightmare that he had destroyed their relationship. A week prior to the song's single release, U2 re-recorded it while trying to find an arrangement they could perform live, returning the song to the more guitar-oriented style of its original demo. "You're the Best Thing About Me" reached number one on the US Adult Alternative Songs chart. Its release was followed by an electronic dance remix by Norwegian DJ Kygo.
