Yona Roshen Knight-Wisdom (born 12 May 1995) is a Jamaican diver, who competed at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics, and came second in the 1 metre springboard event at the 2019 Pan American Games. He was the first Jamaican male diver at an Olympic Games.
Knight-Wisdom was born in Leeds, UK, but competes for Jamaica. His father, Trevor Wisdom, is from Jamaica and his mother, Grace Knight, is from Barbados. [1] Knight-Wisdom studied at Leeds Grammar School, and is a graduate of Leeds Beckett University, where he studied sport and exercise science. [2] [3] [1]
Knight-Wisdom's diving career began in 2004; he has said that he took up the sport after seeing it at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games. [4] He started diving for City of Leeds Diving club along with British divers Jack Laugher, Chris Mears, Rebecca Gallantree and Alicia Blagg. [2] Knight-Wisdom has said of himself that "I am a 190 cm tall, 90 kg heavy, black diver... Watch a diving event and that is not something you will see very often." [1] [5] In 2012, Knight-Wisdom decided to represent Jamaica; he had been eligible to compete for Barbados or Great Britain, but had struggled to get in the British team. [5] [6] Knight-Wisdom competed at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, making him Jamaica's first-ever male Commonwealth diving competitor; [lower-alpha 1] Knight-Wisdom finished fifth in the 1 metre springboard event, and eleventh in the 3 metre springboard event. Knight-Wisdom competed in the 2016 FINA Diving World Cup; after qualifying for the semi-finals by finishing seventeenth, he qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics, becoming the first male Jamaican diver at the Olympics, as well as the first male diver from any Caribbean nation. [12] After qualifying for Rio 2016, Knight-Wisdom was named Leeds Beckett University Sportsman of the Year for 2016. [13]
Knight-Wisdom came second in the 1 metre springboard event at the 2019 Pan American Games. [14] He competed in the 3 metre springboard event at the delayed 2020 Summer Olympics. He finished 15th in the semi-final, and did not progress to the final. [15] He competed at the 2022 Commonwealth Games where he came 5th in the Men's 1 metre springboard event [16] and 6th in the Men's 3 metre springboard event. [17]
Jack David Laugher is a British diver competing for Great Britain and England. A specialist on springboard, he competes in individual springboard events, and in synchronised events with Chris Mears, Daniel Goodfellow and Anthony Harding. Laugher and Mears became Britain's first diving Olympic champions by winning a gold medal in the men's synchronised 3m springboard event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, an achievement many had expected double world 10m champion Tom Daley would achieve first. A week later, Laugher won a silver in the men's individual 3m springboard at the same Games, becoming the first British diver to win multiple Olympic diving medals at the same Games.
Bryan Nickson Lomas is a former Malaysian diver. Lomas was the youngest Malaysian athlete to qualify for 2004 Summer Olympics when he was 14. He became the country's first world junior diving champion after winning gold at the 3 m springboard event in the World Junior Championships held at Belém, Brazil in 2004. He trained under the coaching of Yang Zhuliang. Lomas is named after the footballer Bryan Robson by his father.
Alicia Jane Blagg is a British former diver.
Christopher James Mears is a British diver and DJ/Producer from Burghfield Common, near Reading, Berkshire. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the synchronised 3m springboard event with Jack Laugher and won gold, the first Olympic gold medal for Britain in diving.
Li Shixin is a Chinese-born Australian diver who specialises in the 1 metre springboard event. Li won gold medals in the 1 metre springboard event in the 2011 and 2013 World Aquatics Championships.
Daniel Goodfellow is a British diver, active since 2011, and in the senior ranks from 2013.
Ooi Tze Liang is a Malaysian diver. Ooi has represented Malaysia in various diving events such as 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, 2013 Southeast Asian Games and 2015 Southeast Asian Games.
Nur Dhabitah binti Sabri is a Malaysian diver. She is the youngest Malaysian diver to champion two senior international competitions.
Oliver Dingley is an international diver who represents Ireland. He represented Ireland at the 2016 Summer Olympics. In doing so, he became the first Irish Diver to compete at the Olympics in 68 years. RTÉ's highest rating sports event at the 2016 Olympics was Dingley's 3m springboard final, with an average of 388,000 viewers. Dingley has won numerous national and international medals.
Esther Qin is a Chinese-born Australian retired diver.
Matthew Lee is a British diver and Olympic gold medallist. Adept in both individual and synchronised diving, and across both 3-metre springboard and platform, Lee won the gold medal in 10-metre platform at the 2015 European Games, the mixed 10-metre synchronised platform at the 2017 European Diving Championships and has twice been European junior champion on the 3-metre springboard. At world level, Lee won the silver medal in the mixed 10-metre synchronised platform event at the 2017 World Championships, and at the 2019 World Championships, Lee and Tom Daley won bronze in the 10 m synchro event, as well as gold in July 2021 at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Maddison Keeney is an Australian diver. She won a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, gold medals at the 2017 and 2019 World Aquatics Championships and 2022 Commonwealth Games, and silver medals at the 2014, 2018, and 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Grace Elizabeth Reid is a Scottish diver representing Scotland and Great Britain, and specialising in 1 metre and 3 metre springboard disciplines. She is a world championship silver medallist in the 1 metre springboard, twice a world medallist in the 3 metre mixed synchronised 3 metre springboard discipline, a double gold medallist at both the European Championships and the Commonwealth Games as well as a multiple minor medallist in both those events, the European Games and the FINA Diving World Cup. Domestically, Reid is a three-time national champion.
Brittany Mae O'Brien is an Australian diver. She competed at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics. She attended Pymble Ladies' College and graduated in 2016. She also owns a Jewellery Brand called Draco Jewellery which she launched in 2020.

Samuel Fricker is an Australian diver. He competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics. Fricker grew up in Newcastle and now lives at Cronulla in Sydney. Fricker has used his social media following to produce content and support various charities.
Cassiel Emmanuel Rousseau is an Australian diver. He competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics in the men's 10 metre platform. Rousseau claimed gold in the men's 10m platform World Championships event in Fukuoka 2023, creating history for the Australian diving team by becoming the first Australian men's 10m platform world champion.

Jake Passmore is an Irish diver. In 2022, he became the first diver representing Ireland to win a medal at a World Junior Diving Championships, winning the silver medal in the 1 metre springboard at the 2022 World Junior Diving Championships. He was also the first diver representing Ireland to win a medal at a European Junior Diving Championships, winning the bronze medal at the 2022 European Junior Diving Championships in the 1 metre springboard. In June 2024 Passmore Qualified for The Paris 2024 Olympics in the 3m Springboard
