Ysabel Amara Bisnath (born 29 June 1992) is a Trinidadian born Oxford University graduate, practicing law. Ysabel won the 2018 edition of Miss World Trinidad and Tobago beauty pageant and represented Trinidad and Tobago at Miss World 2018. [1]

Early life and education

Ysabel Bisnath read for her law degree at Oxford University through an Open Government Scholarship which was awarded for her performance in her Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) exams. Ysabel Bisnath obtained her BA from the University of Oxford and later a Masters in International Business Law - Trade & Investment and in Human Rights Law from King's College London. She passed the Bar examination both in her native country and England. Her interests include playing the piano, reading, and diving. [2] She is a public speaker and is fluent in English, French, Italian, and Spanish. Bisnath taught English in China and also worked in Brussels. [3]

Miss Trinidad and Tobago 2018

On August 5, 2018, Ysabel Bisnath won the Miss Trinidad and Tobago 2018 title [4] and won all four specialty awards, which included Miss Multimedia, Miss Photogenic, Spirit of the Pageant, and People’s Choice. [5]

Miss World 2018

Ysabel Bisnath represented Trinidad and Tobago at the 68th Edition of the Miss World beauty pageant on December 8, 2018 held at the Sanya City Arena, Sanya, China. Though unplaced in the finals, Bisnath made it into the Top 20 for the Head to Head Challenge [6] and Top 25 for the Beauty with a Purpose [7] fast-track events.

Miss World 2010, the 60th anniversary of the Miss World pageant, was held on 30 October 2010 at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China after Vietnam backed out of the hosting contract. 121 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Kaiane Aldorino of Gibraltar crowned her successor Alexandria Mills of the United States at end of the event.

Miss World 2016, the 66th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on December 18, 2016 at the MGM National Harbor, Oxon Hill, Maryland, United States. 117 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Mireia Lalaguna of Spain crowned her successor Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico at the end of the event. It was the second time that the Miss World pageant held in the United States. It was the second time where Puerto Rico won Miss World, after Wilnelia Merced in 1975.

Alma Andrea Meza Carmona is a Mexican model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe 2020. Since winning the title, she became the third Mexican woman to be crowned Miss Universe. Miss World America 2017, also referred to as America's Miss World 2017, was the 9th edition of the Miss World America pageant and it was held in the Linda Chapin Theater in the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida and was won by Clarissa Bowers of Florida. She was crowned by outgoing titleholder, Audra Mari of North Dakota. Bowers went on to represent the United States at the Miss World 2017 Pageant in Sanya, China later that year. She finished in the Top 40 at Miss World.
