<span class="mw-page-title-main">Adamawa State</span> State of Nigeria

Adamawa state is a state in the North-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria, bordered by Borno to the northwest, Gombe to the west, and Taraba to the southwest, while its eastern border forms part of the national border with Cameroon. It takes its name from the historic emirate of Adamawa, with the emirate's old capital of Yola, serving as the capital city of Adamawa state. The state is one of the most heterogeneous in Nigeria, with over 100 indigenous ethnic groups. It was formed in 1991, when the former Gongola state was divided into Adamawa and Taraba states. Taraba is a state in North Eastern Nigeria, named after the Taraba River, which traverses the southern part of the state. Taraba state's capital is Jalingo. The main ethnic groups are the Fulani, Tiv, Mumuye, Mambilla, Wurkuns, Jukun, Kuteb, Yandang, Ndola, Itchen, Tigun and Jibu. The northern parts is mainly dominated by Fulani of Muri emirate. The southern parts are dominated by the Jukun, Chamba, Tiv, Kuteb and Ichen.The central region is mainly occupied by the Fulani, Mambilla and the Jibu peoples. There are over 77 different tribes, and their languages in Taraba State.

Nasarawa State is a state in the North Central region of Nigeria, bordered to the east by the states of Taraba and Plateau, to the north by Kaduna State, to the south by the states of Kogi and Benue, and to the west by the Federal Capital Territory. Named for the historic Nasarawa Emirate, the state was formed from the west of Plateau State on 1 October 1996. The state has thirteen local government areas and its capital is Lafia, located in the east of the state, while a key economic centre of the state is the Karu Urban Area—suburbs of Abuja—along the western border with the FCT.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Jukun people (West Africa)</span> West African ethno-linguistic group

Jukun are an ethno-linguistic group or ethnic nation in West Africa. The Jukun are traditionally located in Taraba, Benue, Nasarawa, Plateau, Adamawa, Bauchi and Gombe States in Nigeria and parts of northwestern Cameroon. They are descendants of the people of Kwararafa. Most of the tribes in the north central of Nigeria trace their origin to the Jukun people and are related in one way or the other to the Jukuns. Until the coming of both Christianity and Islam, the Jukun people were followers of their own traditional religions. Most of the tribes, Alago, Agatu, Rendere, Goemai in Shendam, and others left Kwararafa when it disintegrated as a result of a power tussle. The Jukuns are divided into two major groups; the Jukun Wanu and Jukun Wapa. The Jukun Wanu are fishermen residing along the banks of the river Benue and Niger where they run through Taraba State, Benue State and Nasarawa State. The Wukari Federation, headed by the Aku Uka of Wukari, is now the main centre of the Jukun people.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Wukari</span> LGA and Town in Taraba State, Nigeria

Wukari is a Local Government Area in Taraba State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is in the town of Wukari on the A4 highway. The Donga River flows through the area and the Benue River forms a boundary with Nasarawa State to the northwest. It has an area of 4,308 km2 and a population of 241,546 at the 2006 census. The postal code of the area is 670.

The Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu is based in Ishiagu, Ivo Local government area of Ebonyi State, Nigeria. The college promotes education, training and research into agricultural production, processing and technology.

The Wukari Federation is a traditional state in Nigeria, a successor to the Kwararafa state of the Jukun people. The state is based in the town of Wukari in Taraba State, in the south of the Benue River basin. The ruler takes the title "Aku Uka".

Veritas University is a private university, located in Abuja. It was founded in March 2002 by the Catholic Church in Nigeria. The Institution received its provisional operation licence in 2007 from the National Universities Commission and commenced admission of students in October 2008, at its take-off campus in Obehie, Abia State, Nigeria.

Tansian University (TANU) is located in Umunya, Oyi Local Government Area, Anambra State in Nigeria. It is a private Christian University. It started in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area as a temporary site, before the permanent site was set up in Umunya. It was founded by Rev Msgr Prof John Bosco Akam. Although, Tansian University is a Private University, the Anambra State government under Governor Peter Obi donated cash and vehicles for its infrastructural upgrade and development. In 2021, Tansian University lost its Founder, Rev Msgr Prof John Akam to death.

The Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka is a Nigerian technical tertiary institution located in Akoka, a suburb of Yaba in Lagos. Founded in 1967 by the Federal Government of Nigeria, the institution was founded with the aim of "grooming and producing teachers in technical, vocational and commercial academic disciplines". The Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka is approved by the National Universities Commission and offers the award of Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and undergraduate first degree courses in technology education, having affiliated to the Federal University of Technology, Minna.

David Sabo Kente, popularly known as DSK is a Nigerian businessman, politician and philanthropist who is the founder and CEO of "DSK Group International Ltd" and the NGO "DSK Foundation". He was the candidate of SDP in the 2015 Taraba State Gubernatorial election before he joined the All Progressives Congress in 2016. He has once served as the National Assembly's director of finance. He is currently a member of the Northeast Development Commission (NEDC) and the chairman Board of Trustees of the Northeast Development Education Endowment Fund.

The Federal College of Education, Pankshin is a federal government higher education institution located in Pankshin, Plateau State, Nigeria. It is affiliated to University of Jos for its degree programmes. The current Provost is Amos Bulus Cirfat.

The Federal University, Wukari was established in 2011 by the federal government of Nigeria led by the then President, Goodluck Jonathan, the school was established as one of the nine schools established at the time. Federal University, Wukari is located in the town called Wukari in Taraba State, Nigeria.
