The University of Chittagong is a public research university located in Hathazari, Chattogram, Bangladesh. It was established on 18 August 1966. It is one of the oldest universities in Bangladesh. Its 2,312.32 acres (935.76 ha) campus is the largest among universities in Bangladesh. It is one of the four autonomous by the act universities of Bangladesh.

Bengalis, also rendered as endonym Bangalee, are an Indo-Aryan ethnolinguistic group originating from and culturally affiliated with the Bengal region of South Asia. The current population is divided between the sovereign country Bangladesh and the Indian regions of West Bengal, Tripura, Barak Valley, Goalpara, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and parts of Meghalaya, Manipur and Jharkhand. Most speak Bengali, a language from the Indo-Aryan language family. Sub-section 2 of Article 6 of the Constitution of Bangladesh states, "The people of Bangladesh shall be known as Bengalis as a nation and as Bangladeshis as citizens."

He is widely regarded as one of the most popular and influential figures in Bengali cinema and is considered to be one of the most successful actors in the country's history. In his career spanning about two decades, Khan has been the propeller of the contemporary film industry Dhallywood. As of 2022, he was the highest paid actor in Bangladesh.

Chashi Nazrul Islam was a Bangladeshi film director and producer. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director twice for the films Shuvoda in 1986 and Hangor Nodi Grenade in 1997. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2004 by the Government of Bangladesh.

Nasrin Akter Nipun, known by her stage name as Nipun is a Bangladeshi film actress. She was the former general secretary of Bangladesh Film Artistes Association, the organisation of local film artists. She won the National Film Awards twice - Best Actress for Shajghor (2007) and Best Supporting Actress for Chander Moto Bou (2009). As of 2014, she has acted in a total of 35 films including Pitar Ason, Rickshawalar Prem, Praner Shami, and Porichoi.

Mohiuddin Ahmad Alamgir, better known as simply Alamgir, is a Bangladeshi film actor and television host. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor and Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor a record nine times for his roles in the films Ma O Chhele (1985), Apekka (1987), Khotipuron (1989), Moroner Pore (1990), Pita Mata Santan (1991), Andha Biswas (1992) and Desh Premik (1994), Jibon Moroner Sathi (2010) and Ke Apon Ke Por (2011).
