Morgan County is a county in the north-central part of the U.S. state of Alabama. As of the 2020 census, its population was 123,421. The county seat is Decatur. Buck's Pocket State Park is public recreation area located on Sand Mountain in the northeast corner of the U.S. state of Alabama, 2 miles (3.2 km) north of the community of Grove Oak. The state park occupies 2,000 acres (810 ha) surrounding a natural pocket (canyon) of the Appalachian Mountain chain along South Sauty Creek, an upstream tributary on the east side of Guntersville Lake. The park is known for the sweeping views of its rugged, seemingly untouched landscape provided from the heights of Point Rock.

Union Hill, also known as Wolff, is an unincorporated community in the eastern portion of Morgan County, Alabama, United States. It is one of the highest points on Brindlee Mountain, part of the Appalachian Mountain Range. The area consists of Union Hill School, Union Hill Senior Center and New Canaan Baptist Church. It also hosts Station #2 of the Brindlee Mountain Fire Department, as well as Lecroy's, a popular restaurant up the road from the school. The broadcast tower for radio station WRSA Lite 96.9 is also located in Union Hill. A post office operated under the name Wolff from 1899 to 1905.

Lacon, also known as Cedar Crossing, is a ghost town in extreme southern Morgan County, Alabama, United States. Lacon was named after Lacon, Illinois. Built at the northern foot of Burleson Mountain, alongside the railroad track there, a spring and good clay enabled a substantial brickyard. The Lacon brickyard made bricks with a distinctive mark, "LACON", imprinted on the large sides of the bricks.
