The Ohio River is a 981-mile (1,579 km) long river in the United States. It is located in the Midwestern and Southern United States, flowing southwesterly from western Pennsylvania south of Lake Erie to its mouth on the Mississippi River at the southern tip of Illinois. It is the third largest river by discharge volume in the United States and the largest tributary by volume of the north-south flowing Mississippi River that divides the eastern from western United States. The river flows through or along the border of six states, and its drainage basin includes parts of 14 states. Through its largest tributary, the Tennessee River, the basin includes several states of the southeastern U.S. It is the source of drinking water for three million people.

Idylwood is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. The population was 17,288 at the 2010 census. It originally developed as a suburban community along the route of the Washington and Old Dominion Railroad, and later along Virginia State Route 7. The construction of the Capital Beltway in the 1960s, and I-66 and the Orange Line of the Washington Metrorail system in the 1980s, as well as the concurrent development of nearby Tysons Corner into Washington's leading suburban business district, led to the development of several apartment, townhouse, and small-lot single-family housing complexes, as well as the high-rise Idylwood Towers condominium, in the portion of Idylwood lying to the north of I-66. The area to the south of I-66 remains primarily large-lot single-family.
Seven Corners is a commercial center and census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. The population was 9,255 at the 2010 census. Seven Corners has a "Falls Church" mailing address but is not within Falls Church's city limits. The area got its name from the intersection of State Route 7, U.S. Route 50, State Route 613, State Route 338 and Wilson Boulevard. The junction of these four roads once created seven corners.

Located in Northern Virginia between the community of McLean and the town of Vienna along the Capital Beltway (I-495), it lies within the Washington Metropolitan Area. Tysons is home to two super-regional shopping malls—Tysons Corner Center and Tysons Galleria—and the corporate headquarters of numerous companies such as Intelsat, DXC Technology, Gannett, Hilton Worldwide, Freddie Mac, Capital One, Alarm.com and Booz Allen Hamilton. Tysons is Fairfax County's central business district and a regional commercial center. It has been characterized as a quintessential example of an edge city. The population was 19,627 as of the 2010 census.

Hightown is an unincorporated community at the crossroads of U.S. Route 250 and Secondary State Route 640 in Highland County, Virginia, United States. Hightown is located approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) northwest of Monterey, Virginia. The community lies on the division of the James River and Potomac River watersheds, with the main source of the South Branch Potomac River to the north of Hightown along State Route 640 and the source of the Jackson River, a tributary of the James, south of U.S. Route 250 west of Hightown. The roof of a barn owned by Jacob Hevener located near Hightown is said to have divided the two watersheds, with rain falling on one side of the roof flowing to the James and on the other to the Potomac. The community was originally known as Heveners Store.
Owens is a small unincorporated crossroads community at the intersection of Dahlgren Road, Windsor Drive, and Owens Drive in King George County, Virginia, United States. State Routes 206 and 218 meet at this intersection, with 206 going east towards U.S. Route 301 and Dahlgren, 218 going south towards US 301 and Colonial Beach and 206 and 218 joined together going west towards Arnolds Corner and Fredericksburg. The eastern part of the community is within the Dahlgren census-designated place.

In the U.S. state of Virginia, US 50 extends 86 miles (138 km) from the border with Washington, D.C. at a Potomac River crossing at Rosslyn in Arlington County to the West Virginia state line near Gore in Frederick County.
Arnolds Corner is an unincorporated community in King George County, Virginia, United States. Arnolds Corner lies to the west of King George at the crossroads of Kings Highway and Dahlgren Road. The community is the location of King George High School and is located within the Northern Neck George Washington Birthplace American Viticultural Area winemaking appellation.
Red Creek is an unincorporated community in Tucker County, West Virginia, United States. Red Creek is located on West Virginia Route 72, 12 miles (19 km) southeast of Parsons. Red Creek has a post office with ZIP code 26289. Originally called Flanangan Hill after early settler Ebenezer Flanagan, the community was named Red Creek by the community's first postmaster William Raines. Being a Democrat, Raines refused to name the post office after the Republican Flanagan family, and thus named it for a nearby creek. The Red Creek post office was established in 1856.
