The National Register of Historic Places in the United States is a register including buildings, sites, structures, districts, and objects. The Register automatically includes all National Historic Landmarks as well as all historic areas administered by the U.S. National Park Service. Since its introduction in 1966, more than 90,000 separate listings have been added to the register.

Staats Mill Covered Bridge, also known as Tug Fork Covered Bridge, is a historic wooden covered bridge near Ripley in Jackson County, West Virginia, United States. Built in 1887, the Staats Mill Covered Bridge originally crossed the Tug Fork of Big Mill Creek and was named for Enoch Staats' water-powered mill.
Advance Mills, also known as Fray's Mill, is an unincorporated community in Albemarle County, Virginia.
Canton Bridge Company was a firm that was later incorporated into the American Bridge Company. The firm was established in Canton, Ohio in 1892 and became one of the nation's biggest bridge-builders during the early 20th century. It designed and/or built many bridges that later became listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).
The Washington Mill Bridge is a road bridge crossing Lytle Creek near Bernard, Iowa that was built in 1877–78. It is a bowstring, through arch bridge, manufactured and built by the Massillon Bridge Company.
The Fremont Mill Bridge near Anamosa, Iowa was built in 1873. Its superstructure was designed and built by Massillon Iron Bridge Company and its foundations were built by James Milne. It is a wrought iron bowstring through arch bridge.
Mill Creek Historic District is a national historic district located at Bunker Hill, Berkeley County, West Virginia. It encompasses nine contributing buildings, eight contributing sites, and three contributing objects that relate to an early industrial-commercial center in the county. They include: the Mill Creek Bridge, Henry Sherrard Mill, Robert Daniels House, John Gray House, Henshaw Log House, "Springhill", Henshaw Miller's House, "Springfield", Holliday Mill Sites, Bunker Hill Cumberland Valley Railroad Bridge, Stephenson's Tavern, Morgan Park including two State markers and monument (1924) to Morgan Morgan, Elisha Boyd Mill Sites, Joel Ward Mill ruins, Bunker Hill Mill Complex, and Joel Ward House.
Jones Mill Run Historic District is a national historic district located near Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia. It encompasses one contributing building, one contributing site, and two contributing structures. They are the Thomas Swearingen House ; site of the mill, including the stone foundation and head and tail races; and the double stone bridge.
Weston and Gauley Bridge Turnpike is a segment of a historic turnpike and hiking trail located at Burnsville, Braxton County, West Virginia. It is a 10 mile long section of trail, approximately 20 feet in width, with an unpaved surface. It is administered by the Army Corps of Engineers. The route was built starting in 1847 to provide access to Sutton for transport of product to grist mills and sawmills, access to the Bulltown sawmills and salt works, and farmland in Lewis, Braxton, and Nicholas counties. During the American Civil War, the turnpike was used in 1861 by Union troops to move to take control of western Virginia. It was also critical in the movement of troops during the Battle of Bulltown on October 13, 1863.
Sarvis Fork Covered Bridge, also known as Sandyville Covered Bridge, is a historic covered bridge located near Sandyville, Jackson County, West Virginia. It was built in 1889-1890 for $64.00 by R.B. Cunningham and G.W. Staats in 1890, originally spanning John Carnahan's Fork, a branch of Mill Creek. When US Route 33 was built using an iron bridge, the covered bridge was first abandoned, then moved and rebuilt over the Left Fork of the Sandy Creek in 1924 for $1,050.00.
Glenville Truss Bridge is a historic Pratt Through Truss bridge that spans the Little Kanawha River at Glenville, Gilmer County, West Virginia. The bridge was built in 1885. The bridge is 240 feet, 6 inches, long and the main through truss span is 147 feet. It was designed and/or built by the Stewart, Shirreffs & Co. of Richmond, Virginia and fabricated by the Wrought Iron Bridge Builders of Canton, Ohio.
Herns Mill Covered Bridge is a historic covered bridge near Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, West Virginia. It was built in 1884, and is a Queen post truss bridge measuring 10 feet, 6 inches wide and 53 feet, 8 inches long. It has red board-and-batten siding and a galvanized sheet metal roof. It was built to provide access to the S.S. Hern Mill, when it was in operation. It is one of two remaining covered bridges in Greenbrier County, the other being Hokes Mill Covered Bridge.
Hokes Mill Covered Bridge is a historic covered bridge at Ronceverte, Greenbrier County, West Virginia. It was built over Second Creek between 1897 and 1899, and measures 12 feet wide and 81.6 feet long. It has red board-and-batten siding and a standing seam metal roof. It is one of two remaining covered bridges in Greenbrier County, the other being Herns Mill Covered Bridge.
Nickell Homestead and Mill, also known as Mont Glenn Farm, is a historic home, grist mill, and national historic district located at Secondcreek, near Ronceverte, Monroe County, West Virginia. The district includes seven contributing buildings. The original section of the main house was built about 1820, with additions made in 1858, and about 1900. It is a 2+1⁄2-story, six bay brick and frame Federal style dwelling. The 1900 addition has some Colonial Revival style details. Also on the property is a two-story mill built in 1814, a barn, machine shed, hog shed, garage, and house by the mill. The Nickell mill closed in 1949. The property upon which the mill stood was sold in 2014 or 2015. The new owner tore down the mill. The only thing remaining is the stone foundation. The new owner is not maintaining the property and the house is also falling into disrepair. One wonders why this person bought an historic property only to destroy it.
Day-Vandevander Mill — also known as the Old Mill at Harman — is a historic grist mill located near Harman, Randolph County, West Virginia. The original structure was built about 1877, and is a mortice and tenon, hand hewn post and beam structure. The additions built in the 1920s are studded wall frame construction. The property includes the original mill pond and tail race. It is open as a mill museum.
Valley Railroad Stone Bridge is a historic stone arch bridge spanning Folly Mills Creek near Jolivue, Augusta County, Virginia. It was built in 1874 by the Valley Railroad, and is a four-span structure with an overall length of 130 feet (40 m) and a width of 15 feet (4.6 m). It is constructed of granite and faced in ashlar and features semi-circular arches set on gently splayed piers. It was acquired by the Virginia Department of Transportation in 1965. It is considered a scenic landmark along Interstate 81.
Pemberton is an unincorporated community in Goochland County, Virginia, United States. Virginia State Route 45 passes by Pemberton, located about 11 miles (18 km) west of Goochland, the county seat. It was named for the family that owned Clover Forest Plantation. Nearby is Howard's Neck Plantation, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Midway Mill was a historic grist mill located at Midway Mills, Nelson County, Virginia. It was built in 1787 by William H. Cabell (1772–1853), with minor alterations in 1810. It was a 4 1/4-story, uncoarsed ashlar stone rectangular structure with a slate gable roof. Associated with the mill were the contributing stone arch bridge and the late-19th century frame Simpson House. It once stood beside the James River and Kanawha Canal at the halfway point on the James River between Lynchburg and Richmond. It was demolished in 1998.
French's Mill is a historic grist mill at the junction of Augusta-Ford Hill and Fairground Roads in Augusta, West Virginia. Its main building is a three-story wood-frame building with a metal roof, asphalt siding, and a concrete foundation. It was built in 1911 on the site of a c. 1890s grist mill that was destroyed by fire. The mill, which was originally water-powered, was converted to operate by electric power in 1949, and ceased operations in 2000. It was also updated in the mid-20th century to accommodated different types of grain, illustrating the evolutionary change of these industrial facilities.
