Henri Cochet defeated the defending champion Jean Borotra in the final, 4–6, 4–6, 6–3, 6–4, 7–5 to win the gentlemen's singles tennis title at the 1927 Wimbledon Championships. He saved a record six championship points, and became the first player to win three consecutive Grand Slam matches from two sets down, an achievement that went ummatched until Tommy Robredo did so at the 2013 French Open.
René Lacoste defeated the defending champion Henri Cochet 6–1, 4–6, 6–4, 6–2 in the final to win the gentlemen's singles tennis title at the 1928 Wimbledon Championships.
Bill Tilden defeated Wilmer Allison in the final, 6–3, 9–7, 6–4 to win the gentlemen's singles tennis title at the 1930 Wimbledon Championships. It was his third Wimbledon title and his tenth and last Grand Slam singles title overall. Henri Cochet was the defending champion, but lost in the quarterfinals to Allison.
Ellsworth Vines defeated Bunny Austin 6–4, 6–2, 6–0 in the final to win the gentlemen's singles tennis title at the 1932 Wimbledon Championships. Sidney Wood was the defending champion, but lost in the quarterfinals to Jiro Sato.
Henri Cochet defeated Jean Borotra 6–4, 6–3, 6–4 in the final to win the gentlemen's singles tennis title at the 1929 Wimbledon Championships. René Lacoste was the defending champion, but did not participate.
Fifth-seeded René Lacoste defeated Jean Borotra in the final, 7–5, 6–1, 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 1925 French Championships. The draw consisted of 61 players of whom 16 were seeded. This was the first time the French Championships was staged as a Grand Slam event.
Jean Borotra and Jacques Brugnon were the defending champions but they split up and Borotra teamed up with René Lacoste and Brugnon partnered with Henri Cochet. The final saw the encounter of these teams known all together as the Four Musketeers with the former pair clinching the title.
Bill Tilden defeated Frank Hunter in the final, 3–6, 6–3, 4–6, 6–2, 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 1929 U.S. National Championships. It was Tilden's seventh and last U.S. Championships singles title, and ninth major singles title overall.
