Bert Gustav Tommy Körberg is a Swedish singer, actor, and musician. English-speaking audiences know him best for his role as Anatoly/"The Russian" in the musical Chess. He played the role on the 1984 concept album, and again on stage in the 1986 world première West End production in London. He has also performed the role several more times since then.
The Eurovision Song Contest 1969 was the 14th in the series.
"Judy, min vän" was the Swedish entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1969, performed in Swedish by Tommy Körberg, the winner of Melodifestivalen 1969. Körberg was not the only Swede competing in the 1969 Contest, held in Madrid, Spain; Siw Malmkvist, who first had entered in 1960 with "Alla andra får varann", this year represented Germany with "Primaballerina".

France has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 61 times since its debut at the first contest in 1956. France is one of only seven countries to be present at the first contest, and has been absent from only two contests in its history, missing the 1974 and 1982 contests. Along with Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom, France is one of the "Big Five" who are automatically allowed to participate in the final because they are the five biggest financial contributors to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). France has won the contest five times.
Sweden has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 58 times since making its debut in 1958, missing only three contests since then. Since 1959, the Swedish entry has been chosen through an annual televised competition, known since 1967 as Melodifestivalen. At the 1997 contest, Sweden was one of the first five countries to adopt televoting. Sweden is the only country to have hosted the event in five different decades, three times in Stockholm, twice in Malmö and once in Gothenburg (1985).
"Kun kello käy" was the Finnish entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1968, performed in Finnish by Kristina Hautala.
Melodifestivalen 1969 was the selection for the 11th song to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. It was the 10th time that this system of picking a song had been used. 2402 songs were submitted to SVT for the competition. The final was broadcast on TV1 but was not broadcast on radio. This was the first time a tie occurred for first place in the competition.
Melodifestivalen, the Swedish selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, began in 1959, the year after Sweden had made its debut in the Contest. It has been held almost every year since.
Sweden chose their entrant for Eurovision Song Contest 1969 through Melodifestivalen 1969. A tie occurred between two songs, but after additional voting, the song "Judy, min vän" with Tommy Körberg was selected. It was written by Roger Wallis and Britt Lindeborg. The other song, "Hej clown" was written by Lasse Berghagen and later ABBA member Benny Andersson.
Kirsti Sparboe was born on 7 December 1946 in Tromsø, Norway. She is a musical performer and an actress. Most of her musical career has been built on participation in the widely popular Eurovision Song Contest.
In order to choose an entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 1988, Sweden held a national selection, namely Melodifestivalen 1988. The runaway winner was the ballad "Stad i ljus" sung by Tommy Körberg, who also had represented Sweden at the 1969 contest. This time his song was written by Py Bäckman. It was the first time in the eighties that the Swedish entry was a ballad.

France and Antenne 2 continued their participation at the Eurovision Song Contest, taking part at the Eurovision Song Contest 1991, held in Rome, Italy. Antenne 2 continued to select their entry internally, choosing Amina Annabi to sing for France with the song "C'est le dernier qui a parlé qui a raison".
Spain hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 1969 at the Teatro Real in Madrid, after Massiel won the 1968 contest with "La, la, la". TVE internally selected Salomé to represent the country at the contest. The song, "Vivo cantando", was selected through a national final.
Germany was represented by Conny Froboess, with the song '"Zwei kleine Italiener", at the 1962 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 18 March in Luxembourg City. Twelve artists and 24 songs took part in the German preselection, which consisted of four semi-finals, followed by the final on 17 February. Each show was held in a different German city.

The Swedish entry was selected through Melodifestivalen 2012, a national final format that consisted of four semi-finals, a second chance round and a final, organised by Swedish broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT). Loreen represented Sweden with the song "Euphoria", which qualified from the second semi-final and went on to win the contest in the final, scoring 372 points.

The Swedish entry was selected through Melodifestivalen 2013, a national final format that consisted of four semi-finals, a second chance round and a final, organised by Swedish broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT). Robin Stjernberg represented Sweden with the song "You", which scored 62 points in the grand final and finished in 14th place.

The Swedish entry was selected through Melodifestivalen 2014, a national final format that consisted of four semi-finals, a second chance round and a final, organised by Swedish broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT). Sanna Nielsen represented Sweden with the song "Undo", which qualified from the first semi-final and placed 3rd in the final, scoring 218 points.
Sweden participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Kiev, Ukraine. The Swedish entry was selected through Lilla Melodifestivalen 2013 which consisted of eight songs. The final was held on 6 June 2013 at the Gröna Lund amusement park in Stockholm. Eliias and his song "Det är dit vi ska" was chosen as the winner.
The United Kingdom will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. The British broadcaster British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) will organise the national final Eurovision: You Decide 2019 in order to select the British entry for the 2019 contest in Tel Aviv, Israel.
