A by-election was held for the New South Wales Legislative Assembly seat of Hawkesbury on Saturday, 17 February 1973. [1] It was triggered by the resignation of Bernie Deane (Liberal). [2]

Hawkesbury is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. It is represented by Robyn Preston of the Liberal Party.

Sherbrooke was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian colony of New South Wales, existing from 1894 until 1913. It included Blacktown and Baulkham Hills. It was named after Robert Lowe, 1st Viscount Sherbrooke.
