Grand Prix motorcycle racing is the premier class of motorcycle road racing events held on road circuits sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). Independent motorcycle racing events have been held since the start of the twentieth century and large national events were often given the title Grand Prix. Giacomo Agostini Italian motorcycle racer

Giacomo Agostini is an Italian multi-time world champion Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. Nicknamed Ago, he amassed 122 Grand Prix wins and 15 World Championship titles. Of these, 68 wins and 8 titles came in the 500 cc class, the rest in the 350 cc class. For these achievements obtained over the course of a career spanning 17 years, the AMA described him as "...perhaps the greatest Grand Prix rider of all time". In 2010, Agostini was named an FIM Legend for his motorcycling achievements.

Morbidelli was an Italian motorcycle manufacturer founded by Giancarlo Morbidelli in Pesaro. During the late 1970s and early 1980s, the company was particularly successful in Grand Prix motorcycle racing. The team won the 125 cc world championship in 1975, 1976 and 1977, and won the 250 cc championship in 1977.

Finnish motorcycle Grand Prix

The Finnish motorcycle Grand Prix was a round of the FIM Grand Prix motorcycle racing championship from 1962 to 1982. It was held at the Tampere Circuit in 1962 and 1963 before moving to the Imatra Circuit. Giacomo Agostini won the most Finnish Grands Prix with ten 500cc victories and seven 350cc victories. In July 2016, it was announced the Grand Prix would return from 2019 on the new Kymi Ring, but the provisional 2019 calendar did not include the track on the schedule. It was included in the 2020 calendar but it was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, though it was confirmed for 2021. However, it was also cancelled on 14 May 2021 and its 5-year contract is scheduled to start in 2022.
