Elections to provincial, municipal, city, county and district people's assemblies were held in North Korea on February 24, 1985.

In total, 28,793 provincial, municipal, city, county and district people's assembly deputies were elected. Voter turnout was reported as 100%, with candidates receiving a 100% approval rate. [1]

1956 North Korean local elections

Two local elections were held in North Korea in 1956. Town, neighborhood, village, and workers' district people's assembly elections were held on November 20, with 54,279 deputies elected. Provincial, city, county, and district people's assembly elections were held on November 27, with 1,009 provincial people's assembly deputies and 9,364 city and county people's assembly deputies elected.

2018 South Korean local elections

The 7th local elections were held in South Korea on 13 June 2018. The election coincided with the by-elections for the vacant seats in the National Assembly. The election was a landslide victory for the Democratic Party of Korea, the ruling party, after two successful summits with the third inter-Korean summit on 27 April and the first North Korea-United States summit in Singapore on 12 June.

Peoples Assembly of North Korea

The People's Assembly of North Korea (Korean: 북조선인민회의) was the unicameral legislature of the People's Committee of North Korea. It consisted of 237 deputies elected during a meeting of the provincial, city and county people's committees, political parties and social organizations of North Korea held from 17-20 February 1947.
