The 1994 African Cup of Nations was the 19th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the association football championship of Africa (CAF). It was hosted by Tunisia, who replaced original hosts Zaire. Just as in 1992, the field of twelve teams was split into four groups of three. Nigeria won its second championship, beating Zambia 2–1 in the final.
The 2004 African Cup of Nations, known as the NOKIA African Cup of Nations, Tunisia 2004 for sponsorship reasons is the 24th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the biennial international men's football championship of Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The tournament was hosted by Tunisia. The qualifying phase takes place from 7 September 2002 to 6 July 2003. Cameroon as title holder and Tunisia as host country automatically qualify for the final phase of the tournament.
Espérance Sportive de Tunis, also known as ES Tunis and Espérance ST, is a Tunisian sports club based in Bab Souika neighbourhood of Tunis, Tunisia. The club was founded in 1919, thus being the oldest active football club in Tunisia and its traditional colours are red and yellow. They play in Olympic Stadium Hammadi Agerbi. The club is mostly known for its football team, which is currently playing in the Tunisian Professional League 1 and is one of the most popular clubs in Tunisia and is considered one of the continent's giants.
Stade El Menzah is a multi-purpose stadium, located in the north of Tunis, Tunisia.
The 1977 FIFA World Youth Championship was the inaugural staging of the FIFA World Youth Championship, hosted by Tunisia from 27 June to 10 July 1977, in three venues — Tunis, Sousse and Sfax. The 28 matches played were the smallest number in tournament history. The USSR U20, defeated Mexico U20 in a penalty shootout, in the final held at Tunis's Stade El Menzah.
In Tunisian football, the Tunis derby is the local derby between the two major clubs in the city of Tunis, Tunisia – Club Africain and Espérance. The derby is played in Tunis in the Hammadi Agrebi stadium due to its larger capacity of 65,000 seats. Before the construction of this stadium, the derby used to be played in the 45,000 seat-capacity Stade El Menzah.

This was the sixteenth season that the tournament took place for the winners of each African country's domestic cup. Thirty-six sides entered the competition, with Al Suguar withdrawing before the 1st leg of the first round.

It was the third edition of the tournament to be played. Espérance de Tunis were crowned champions, with Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Riyadh runner up. Also represented were Al-Hilal, also of Saudi Arabia. It is unclear why Al-Riyadh took part in the competition as they weren't represented as either champions or runners up of the Arab Club Champions Cup or Arab Cup Winners' Cup.
The 1998 Arab Super Cup was an international club competition played by the winners and runners up of the Arab Club Champions Cup and Arab Cup Winners' Cup. It was the fifth edition and was won by Egyptian side Al-Ahly. It was the second time that the host team had not won the championship. Club Africain, the hosts, were runners up.

The UAE President's Handball Cup is a professional Handball tournament that takes place in the United Arab Emirates. Founded in 1977, the inaugural champion was Al Wasl, although Al-Sharjah has taken the trophy the most times of any club, prevailing 10 times.
The 2018–19 CAF Champions League group stage were played from 11 January to 16 March 2019. A total of 16 teams competed in the group stage to decide the eight places in the knockout stage of the 2018–19 CAF Champions League.
The group stage of the 2001 CAF Champions League was played from 11 August to 21 October 2001. A total of eight teams competed in the group stage and for the first time, the group winners and runners-up advance to the Knockout stage playing semifinal rounds before the final.
The 2007 UNAF Women's Club Tournament is the first edition of the UNAF Women's Club Tournament. The clubs from Algeria, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia faced off for the title. The moroccan team FC Berrechid wins the tournament.
